Our Product Operations Team

At Nubank, many things are done from scratch. We understood that to offer the most transparent, fair, and intuitive financial products and services, we had to rebuild them from the ground up, just as we did in our early days. We needed professionals who could navigate from business strategy to project management for this endeavor, from risk assessment to cross-team alignment. This role will involve serving as a central point for the governance of Nubank's technology incidents and the Disaster Recovery tests, as well as the coordination of Regulatory demands related to these topics.As a Product Operations, you're expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management and resolution of technology incidents by the responsible areas and the coordination of disaster recovery efforts.
 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Regulatory Experience.
  • The power to declare an "Operational Contingency" and activate the BCP or DRP without needing multi-level approval during a crisis.
  • Authority and capability to command and direct personnel from other departments (infrastructure, networks, development, eng, legal, compliance, fraud, etc) during an incident.
  • Coordinate incidents mitigation, ensuring that teams are following the incident response process correctly.
  • Ability to communicate calmly, precisely, and unambiguously with the regulator (CNBV and Central Bank) during high-stress situations.
  • Explain a complex technical problem in terms of its regulatory, financial, and reputational impact to both the CNBV and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate postmortems, ensuring that the causes of incidents are being addressed.
  • Validate regulatory demands to ensure that the incident management process is compliant.
  • Answer internal audit and risk requests.
  • Act as the focal point for regulatory inspections.
  • Support on Disaster Recovery tests organization and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned.
  • Support on escalating chaos engineering tests through the Company.
We're looking for an experienced Product Operations who has:
  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles
  • Fluent or native Spanish and English
  • Experience in managing significant incidents or crises in the past, at least 5 years in the same or similar position in the financial sector managing this type of contingencies.
  • Experience not just in resolving the crisis, but in leading the root-cause analysis and creating robust action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Knowledge about a technical ecosystem that supports all of our products. Having been exposed to disaster recovery tests is a plus.
  • Capacity to navigate in ambiguous situations, managing challenging stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding communication skills; ability to communicate concisely and effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrable track record of tactical stakeholder management
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and, preferably, has already worked on audits and inspections
