About the role

The People Operations Manager will lead and oversee the core People processes that support the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and a high-quality employee experience. This role combines strategic HR initiatives with operational excellence, scaling with well-designed processes, systems and policies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing People Operations, managing compliance across jurisdictions, and partnering with P&C peers to foster a culture of accountability, fairness, and engagement.

You'll be responsible for

  • Oversee end-to-end processes for onboarding, offboarding, transfers (local and international), vacations, leave management and other related functions.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation and employee records management.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and P&C COEs to develop and deliver consistent people practices.
  • Implement and maintain People  policies aligned with local labor laws and company values,  ensuring compliance with rules and employment regulations.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on themes related to the area.
  • Manage the operational delivery of payroll in partnership with Finance and external providers (outsourcing model).
  • Drive optimization of People-related  processes, champion automation and process improvement initiatives within People Operations.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex operational or employee relations issues.

We are looking for a person who has

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in People Operations / HR Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of labor law and HR compliance (Mexico, LATAM, global is a plus).
  • Experience in HR ERP (e.g. Workday, Oracle, BambooHR, etc), spreadsheets and electronic document platforms such as Docusign.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; able to build trust across teams.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution.
  • Fluent English skills; Portuguese is a plus.

Our Nu Way of Working 

Our work model is hybrid and has cycles that can be from two to three months according to the business of ​​expertise. For every eight or twelve weeks of remote work, one will be at the office.
