Development Officer
We are looking for a talented, skilled and compassionate Development Officer to work 40 hours per week in our Norwell office. Reporting to the Director of Development and working closely with the SVP, the Development Officer will develop and maintain a robust portfolio of multi-level donors and prospects.
Compensation: Starting from $80k+ annually
What will you be doing:
- Cultivate and steward a portfolio of 200+ donors and prospects with diversity in levels of giving and relationships.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure gifts of $25k+.
- Develop a pipeline of established donors and elevate prospects to major gift level.
- Establish strong working relationships with administrative and volunteer leaders and staff who are central to donor engagement.
- Utilize the Charitable Fund Board of Trustees to identify new leaders in the community and steward existing relationships through network connections.
What we’re looking for in you:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree
Experience
- 5-10 years of fundraising, sales, or equivalent experience, healthcare sector preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of the major gift process and best practices in fundraising
- Understanding of working with diverse constituencies: both experienced and new donors
- Track record of identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and closing major gifts
- Seasoned relationship development and cultivation
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent computer skills (data base, Excel, MS Word). Donor Perfect software experience a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact with administrative and volunteer leaders and colleagues.
- Flexible, dependable, organized and detail oriented.
