Senior Project Manager (Grants)

Position Overview:
NYCEDC’s Grants Department is responsible for pursuing, overseeing and facilitating local, state, and federal grants for a broad array of EDC projects. The Grants Department is responsible for the management of each project as it relates to grants, from grant application through closeout. The Grants Department coordinates with grantors, NYCEDC Project Managers, other departments and city agencies to ensure appropriate oversight of all grants, including legal and fiscal compliance, fiscal management, reporting and reimbursement. The Portfolio Management team reports to the Senior Vice President of Grants Management and advances grant funded projects by providing internal and external support and coordination.
Reporting to the AVP of Grants, Portfolio Management, the Senior Project Manager (SPM) will develop and demonstrate a working understanding and knowledge of EDC Grant operational practices and policies. The SPM will have a solid understanding of grant and project management skills while assisting with systems updates, reporting and compliance tasks under the State and Federal grants portfolio. The SPM will interact with EDC internal project teams, interagency partners, and external funders; and will coordinate invoice reviews, change orders and contract amendments. The SPM will keep records on project-specific reporting and prepare reimbursement requests during the grant cycle or once the grant is closed out.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with grantors and other agencies
- Shepherd project managers through grant-funded RFP requirements and processes
- Advise project teams on other applicable Federal, State and local compliance requirements and day-to-day grant management
- Maintain detailed record keeping and documentation of all grant activities, funding sources and uses and grant drawdowns
- Manage and organize up-to-date information in the Grants Management SharePoint database
- Represent EDC with external partners and grantors and coordinate on grant reporting requests
- Review and approve invoices, change orders, and contract amendments
- Provide audit support including but not limited to locating and preparing files and responding to requests for information
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree or relevant work experience preferred
- 3 + years of relevant project management experience or equivalent preferred
- Critical thinker with ability to define problems and identify and execute timely solutions required
- Knowledge of city, state or federal government operations is a plus including understanding of budgeting, grant and contract management and public procurement
- Knowledge of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) processes preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Database management experience preferred
- Team player and self-starter with demonstrated analytical and time-management skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
- Highly organized in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
- New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire
Salary Range
$78,000 - $80,000 USD
