POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Project Manager role is an exciting opportunity for a business- and social impact-minded, highly-collaborative, motivated individual to grow our relationships across key sectors and help tell the story of NYCEDC’s work. As part of the Partnerships department, the Project Manager will play a key part in building and managing partnerships with stakeholders to advance the city's economic development goals.
Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Engagement, the Project Manager will support cross-departmental projects that include an external communication plan and building strategies to engage industry partners across a wide range of projects in NYCEDC’s verticals including real estate, sustainability and more. The Project Manager will also support the International Portfolio, which manages relationships between EDC and international stakeholders, creating awareness of EDC’s priorities and projects, identifying mutually beneficial opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and attracting businesses and foreign direct investment (FDI) to New York City.
This position is ideal for a highly motivated, analytical individual grounded in thoughtful engagement practices and superb communications skills for a variety of audiences as well as the ability to advance transformative ideas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop strategies, marketing collateral, and associated external engagement tools in partnership with leaders and colleagues across EDC departments including but not limited to External Affairs, Innovation Industries, Strategy, Real Estate Transaction Services, Asset Management, Contracts, and Legal.
- Support the external engagement strategy of our business development team.
- Build and execute strategies and workplans to engage industry stakeholders in EDC projects across disciplines. Actively monitor and track progress of workplans to ensure timeline and objectives are met.
- Work across teams to manage the implementation and ongoing operations of a new customer relationship management (CRM) approach.
- Support engagements with foreign consulates, trade & investment offices, and diplomatic missions; partner on activities relevant to EDC’s work and initiatives that promote business opportunities and boost foreign direct investment.
- Support high-level meetings with international stakeholders and foreign trade delegations, in collaboration with EDC teams; manage requests, coordinate meetings, create agendas, and present on EDC’s work and opportunities.
- Create and deliver presentations, memorandums and other materials that effectively communicate project recommendations and/or findings to various audiences (e.g., senior EDC staff, City Hall staff, partner agencies, external stakeholders).
- As needed, support team efforts to develop local and domestic events and conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1-3+ years of relevant experience, including business development, communications, policy, and/or economic development.
- Strong research and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional business writing and communications skills are required, including public speaking.
- Proven competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and primary databases such as Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, MS Dynamics).
- New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire.
Salary Range
$73,000 - $75,000 USD
