Role: Account Director – Asset Management & Private Equity

Location: London

About the role:

Our team integrates closely with our clients' businesses, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with strategic priorities across asset management, private equity, and wealth management sectors. We champion delivering hard-working, on-brand creative and content at pace, leverage automation and AI tools, and are committed to continuous improvement in both process and creative output. With a blend of UK-based and offshore talent, we offer the flexibility, operational excellence, and innovation culture that sophisticated financial services clients demand — delivering work that is both effective and compliant.

The culture is built on strong Nordic heritage combined with a global mindset. Our values drive everything we do:

  • High-Performing: Maximising effort and results through collaboration, with urgency to take action and make an impact.
  • Respectful: Acting with integrity and humility, showing regard for stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Entrepreneurial: Being innovative and accountable, taking risks and learning from mistakes to succeed long-term.
  • Informal: Being inclusive and non-hierarchical — everyone is encouraged to be themselves and speak their mind.
  • Transparent: Being open and honest with each other and external stakeholders, raising issues when difficulties arise.

What you will be doing:

  • Serve as the senior relationship lead for asset management and private equity clients, acting as a trusted partner deeply embedded in their marketing and communications function.
  • Lead brand guardianship across all client output — ensuring creative work reflects the sophistication, rigour, and regulatory requirements expected in financial services.
  • Act as the single point of contact for clients, working independently while coordinating with regional marketing heads across the Americas and APAC — including alignment with investor relations, product, and compliance teams.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to define and execute integrated marketing strategy across fund marketing, thought leadership, LP communications, and digital channels.
  • Champion creative excellence within the constraints of a regulated environment, balancing compelling storytelling with FCA, SEC, and MiFID II compliance considerations.
  • Be present in the OLIVER office in Farringdon 3x per week to foster strong relationships across the team and ensure seamless communication.
  • Take overall financial control of accounts, including profitability, forecasting accuracy, fee negotiation, and timely reporting to the Business Director.
  • Own the execution of projects, run rates, and client satisfaction through regular job owner catchups and the weekly account/project management WIP.
  • Drive and be accountable for growth targets across the account, identifying opportunities to expand scope across new funds, markets, or business lines.
  • Serve as the escalation point when client or internal SLAs are not met, capturing process gaps and working with the BD, Head of Operations, or relevant department lead to resolve them.
  • Negotiate win-win outcomes on behalf of your team, navigating the commercial and reputational sensitivities inherent in financial services relationships.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities within the broader asset management and private equity landscape, introducing Brandtech's capabilities where appropriate.

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Demonstrable experience working with asset management, private equity, wealth management, or broader financial services clients — with a strong understanding of fund marketing, LP/investor communications, and the regulated content landscape.
  • Familiarity with the compliance and legal review processes common in financial services, and the ability to manage creative output within those frameworks efficiently.
  • Excellent client engagement skills with the ability to proactively organise and influence senior stakeholders — including CMOs, heads of distribution, and investor relations leads.
  • Proven commercial acumen with a track record of growing accounts and identifying upsell opportunities within complex, relationship-driven client environments.
  • Strong understanding of the B2B buyer journey in financial services — including how HNW and institutional audiences consume content and make decisions.
  • First-rate communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to C-suite and investment professionals, and articulate the value of creative work in commercial terms.
  • Experience leading and developing junior team members within a fast-paced, client-embedded model.
  • A working knowledge of Brandtech group products and how to apply them to asset management and PE marketing challenges — including automation, AI content tools, and performance analytics.
  • Understanding of how to integrate within a client-side team while maintaining a top-tier agency service standard.
  • Highly creative, with the ability to generate ideas that cut through in a sector where differentiation is challenging.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software; comfortable with social and digital-first campaign environments.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, with regular in-office presence to support team cohesion and client engagement.

Our values shape everything we do:
