About The Team You Are Joining: 

We are seeking a senior DB developer/architect with excellent Postgres experience. The primary role is the development of our data warehouse and reporting/dashboard functions reporting to the Datawarehouse manager. The role requires database development, data modeling and workflow development between our primary systems and the data warehouse. Experience in general software development languages would be advantageous as well as experience in requirements analysis. 

What is required for this role:

• Assess requirements with the architectural team and develop data models / write new SQL reports for our MI Data warehouse 

• Manage the data warehouse integrity and performance 

• Manage the export of data to our online BI Tools – Zoho and PowerBI 

• Manage automated reports via the Navicat scheduler 

• Be part of the team who take bespoke report requests and assesses viability and if needed schedule development 

• Manage the orchestration of data flows from our operational systems into the data warehouse using Apache Nifi and Pentaho 
• Mentor and supervise other work done by more junior members of the team 

What you will have:

• • Excellent Postgres SQL skills 
  • Excellent communication skills in English – written and verbal 
  • Experience in other application development languages 
  • Experience of Git 
  • Experience in Perl is advantageous 
  • Experience of ETL tools, Nifi would be nice 
  • Proven understanding of Relational models and data modeling 
  • Understanding and experience in performance management in Postgres 
  • Experience in managing data in a live production system, with the relevant due diligence processes 
  • Experience in developing ETL processes 
  • Experience in developing workflows of data between systems 
  • Experience of running a small team
