About the role: 

This is an opportunity to OLIVER's in-house creative studio embedded with a global FMCG leader, as an Associate Creative Director Art, leading digital-first creative work across an iconic portfolio of beauty and personal care brands. 

You'll own art direction and creative development across social, performance, and digital channels translating brand strategy into visually compelling, culturally resonant work. You'll bring creative leadership to a collaborative studio team, shaping output from initial concept through to final delivery and helping define what great looks like.

As Associate Creative Director - Art, you'll lead the creative vision for a portfolio of beauty and personal care brands within a fast-paced in-house studio. You'll be hands-on with the work driving concept development, art directing across platforms, and elevating team output while building strong client relationships and influencing creative direction at a strategic level. 

This is a role for someone with a sharp digital-first sensibility, a deep understanding of beauty and lifestyle aesthetics, and the confidence to advocate for bold, brand-right ideas in a client-facing environment. 

 

What you will be doing: 

  • 7+ years of experience as an Associate Creative Director in the relevant industry/field. 
  • Lead art direction and conceptual development across digital, social, e-commerce, and performance channels from brief through to final delivery 
  • Own the full creative lifecycle: ideation, design direction, asset development, and quality assurance of finished artwork across all platforms and formats 
  • Drive creative ideation and adaptation across multiple concurrent campaigns, maintaining craft quality and brand consistency throughout 
  • Lead the pitch and presentation of creative concepts in response to client briefs and marketing strategies 
  • Collaborate closely with strategy, production, and client services teams to develop strong, insight-led concepts from briefing through to execution 
  • Ensure all creative output reflects current digital, social, and platform-specific requirements and emerging trends 
  • Manage the preparation of finished artwork files to the correct output specifications across all channels 
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level creative team members, fostering a culture of craft excellence and continuous development 
  • Integrate Gen AI tools into creative workflows, setting team standards for AI-assisted art direction, ideation, and asset development 
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, positively influencing creative direction while working effectively within brand frameworks 

 

What you need to be great in this role: 

Creative and craft 

  • Advanced art direction skills with a strong digital-first portfolio spanning social media, performance marketing, e-commerce, and digital branding 
  • Proven experience creating work for beauty, personal care, or FMCG brands at a senior creative level 
  • Strong typographic skills and a thorough understanding of design principles, including UX, UI, and responsive design 
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and associated prototyping tools 
  • Experience managing the creative adaptation process across diverse brand guidelines and collateral types 
  • A background in digital-first, brand, or editorial agency environments is highly valued 

Leadership and collaboration 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire creative teams while remaining hands-on with the work 
  • Confident presenting and pitching creative concepts to senior client stakeholders, with the conviction to champion bold ideas 
  • Skilled at managing competing priorities across multiple live projects in a fast-moving studio environment 
  • Strong interpersonal skills: able to build trust with clients and collaborators across functions and seniority levels 

Gen AI and agentic thinking 

  • Experience integrating Gen AI tools into creative team workflows and establishing quality standards for AI-assisted output 
  • Able to apply Gen AI tools to enhance art direction, ideation, and asset development with rigorous human oversight and critical evaluation of outputs 
  • Experience guiding team members in responsible AI adoption, prompting best practice, and evaluating AI-generated work against craft and brand standards 
  • Agentic approach to creative problem-solving: breaks complex, multi-brief challenges into clear, executable workstreams 
  • Stays current with emerging AI tools and platforms relevant to digital creative production; brings new approaches to the team proactively
