Job Title: Learning & Development Specialist (APAC)

Role: Freelancer

Duration: 3 months

Location: Manila, Philippines 

 

About the role: 

Are you passionate about People, growth, learning and inclusion? This role is for you!   

As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify skill gaps and develop talent strategy and processes. Your role will also oversee the implementation of leadership and talent development initiatives, which includes executing performance management, learning & development, talent reviews as well as succession planning. 

As a Learning & Development Specialist, your primary focus is on the development and retention of key talents and creating a culture of learning. You will work closely with the various stakeholders in the businesses and functions, People Partners, and global L&D team, to establish and implement talent development solutions, to help manage training, performance management, and employee engagement. You will use data-driven processes to analyze an organization's workforce and to identify areas where skills gaps may exist. One of your main objectives is to help create and implement strategies that attract top talent and develop current employees' skills, helping to ensure a competitive edge for the organization. You will ensure that employees have all the necessary tools, resources, and support to achieve their professional goals. Your job is to be a champion for employees and to help them achieve their highest potential. Overall, as a Talent Management Specialist, your job is critical to an organization's success, and you play an integral role in shaping its future. 

 

What you will be doing: 

Learning & Development 

  • Implement the talent development roadmap and delivery methods through proactive learning needs analysis and regular engagement with leadership, key stakeholders and People Partners to ensure strategic alignment in talent capabilities development. 
  • Develop and implement metrics and monitoring plans to evaluate and demonstrate the impact of training on improving talent capabilities and performance. 
  • Manage training resources and external vendor relationships to ensure effective design and implementation of training solutions within allocated budget. 
  • Facilitate OLIVER-run workshops. 

Talent & Performance Management 

  • Partner with the business, people partners to identify and develop key talents in the organization. 
  • Implement talent development programmes and initiatives as a follow up to the outcomes from talent and succession reviews, through creation of a roadmap for growth that includes learning opportunities, mentorship, leadership training and shadowing, and other initiatives. 
  • Implement solutions to address key talent gaps needed to accelerate talent pipeline and bench strength for key, critical and hard-to-fill roles. 
  • Design tailored individual training programs for future leaders and key talents, catering to their specific needs and aspirations. 
  • Involve in mentorship programes for the functions to ensure successful run of the program and adoption. 
  • Successfully roll out global performance management tool and process to the region with training and communication drive. 
  • Conduct performance management basics 101 for the region, especially in effective performance and development conversations. 

Employee Experience 

  • Lead and ensure that the regional onboarding program and contents are on track and updated. 
  • Providing guidance on talent development initiatives 

 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • Prior experience in the talent development domain, demonstrating extensive knowledge beyond just the fundamentals and someone who is familiar with talent development and management best practices. 
  • A problem solver with a resourceful mind. 
  • A go-getter, passionate in the role and with great work ethics. 
  • Strong communication skills, an advisory style and prior regional work experience is highly desirable. 
  • Advocate for inclusion and diversity with demonstrated leadership, teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting.
