ABOUT THE ROLE

Orchestra is seeking a Head of Marketing and Communications to elevate its brand, reputation and market presence as the company enters its next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the President and working closely with the executive team, this individual will oversee strategy across PR, partnerships, events, awards, thought leadership, events and activations — making smart, intentional decisions about where and how Orchestra shows up in the marketplace. The Head of Marketing and Communications  will collaborate cross-functionally with Orchestra agencies and leadership to ensure consistency in messaging across all channels, including earned media, and support the Vice President of Marketing Communications’ work in brand management, product marketing, content development, cross-channel campaigns and more. This is a highly collaborative leadership role for a strong storyteller and strategist.

Role location: This role is based in our New York, N.Y. office on a hybrid basis. Orchestra staff are in office 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will…

  • Drive external communications and media relations strategy to top-tier publications and through conferences, awards and other high-profile platforms
  • Elevate the profile of the CEO — along with the President, Chief Culture Officer and top voices — by securing speaking slots and other thought leadership opportunities 
  • Shape Orchestra’s presence at high-impact events, such as Cannes Lions, and identify new opportunities for brand visibility through hosted and sponsored activations
  • Align external brand positioning with internal communications to ensure clarity, alignment and engagement across the organization
  • Monitor emerging writers, outlets and media tactics to ensure Orchestra remains top of mind across a variety of earned channels
  • Draft and distribute press releases, pitch reporters, and schedule interviews as needed to communicate key Orchestra announcements
  • Ensure all efforts are data-informed, with clear KPIs and a continuous feedback loop to track and improve performance
  • Oversee and mentor a cross-functional team, including internal communications, content, lifecycle, and paid media

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in public relations or integrated marketing; agency or in-house leadership experience is strongly preferred
  • Deep communications and media expertise, with a strong understanding of how to position a brand at major industry moments and events, as well as how to strategically evaluate which forums to engage with and which to lead through hosted experiences
  • Progressive leadership experience managing and growing teams 
  • Experience driving integrated marketing and communications strategies on behalf of a brand 
  • Data-driven approach to managing marketing and communications initiatives
  • Extremely strong interpersonal, written communication and organizational skills

WORKING AT ORCHESTRA

Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $225,000 - $250,000, plus eligibility for end of year bonuses based on firm, team and individual performance.
