We are the political consulting arm of one of the top strategic communications firms in the country. We develop strategies and produce paid media—TV and digital advertising—to elect Democratic candidates and advance progressive policy goals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring an Operations Associate to support daily business operations and project coordination for Versus Media Group (VMG). This role will serve as a key partner to the Managing Partner, managing day-to-day project coordination, supporting financial tracking, and ensuring transparency and accuracy. In close collaboration with the finance team, this role will help support the teams, monitor costs, and build processes that will allow staff to do their best work.

The Operations Coordinator will collaborate closely with finance, production, and creative stakeholders to keep our work running smoothly and effectively.

We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and team-minded. This person is motivated by mission but grounded in process, brings precision to every project, and is energized by keeping teams on track and systems running smoothly.

Role location: This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid basis. The VMG team is in-office at least 2 days per week.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As an Operations Associate on the VMG team, you will… 

  • Manage and process purchase orders (POs)
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable (AP) to process vendor invoices
  • Manage team credit card transactions and reconcile expenses in the expense system
  • Update actual production costs into client media budgets
  • Review Open AR reports and assist with client follow-up on outstanding invoices
  • Help generate and track accounts receivable (AR) reports and open invoices
  • Support finance in reconciling buyer invoices and processing commission payments
  • Contribute to revenue projections and forecasting
  • Maintain client contracts in the Contracts App
  • Help maintain client databases 
  • Creation of client invoices
  • Help maintain and manage budget processes, including financial and confidential labor relations information

Essential skills: 

  • 1–3 years of experience in operations, finance, related administrative roles, and/or with Democratic campaigns and political organizations
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong sense of follow-through
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to utilize and maintain sensitive budgetary and labor relations information
  • Familiarity with tools such as Abacus, NetSuite, Quickbase, Hubspot or similar platforms (or eagerness to learn)
  • Prior experience in political consulting, production, marketing, or media is a plus

WORKING AT ORCHESTRA

Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $65,000-$75,000

Occasional evening or weekend work is expected for this role.
