Role Overview: 

As the SEO Content Specialist at Paytronix, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that all our content published in HubSpot is well-written, brand-aligned, and optimized for SEO performance based on strategic direction provided by Paytronix’s Content Marketing Manager. You’ll be responsible for proofreading, editing, and refining content to meet high standards of clarity, grammar, and style, while making sure SEO potential is maximized from the date of publication. 

This role involves working closely with the Paytronix Content Marketing Manager (CMM) who provides strategic direction on content marketing initiatives and Upwork freelance content writers to ensure our written content is engaging, error-free, and optimized for our B2B audiences in the restaurant and convenience store (c-store) industries. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Work closely with the CMM and Upwork freelance writers to assign articles based on the editorial calendar, edit pieces for accuracy, and publish to Paytronix's blog on a regular cadence. 
  • Create and assign article outlines based on editorial and strategic direction provided by the CMM, providing feedback to writers on sentence structure, key points, and overall flow of articles.  
  • Write new sections of content for existing articles or write brand new articles based on initiatives provided by the CMM. 
  • Proofread and edit content for accuracy, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall quality. 
  • Ensure that all content adheres to Paytronix's in-house style guide and brand voice across digital publishing platforms.  
  • Review and revise content for readability, clarity, tone, and flow, ensuring the content is engaging and on-brand. 
  • Conduct fact-checking and research to verify the accuracy of information included in written content. 
  • Ensure all material within your area of involvement is optimized for SEO where relevant and formatted properly for HubSpot.  
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines to ensure content is delivered on time. 
  • Stay current with content marketing best practices, SEO trends, and digital marketing strategies to ensure the continued relevance and effectiveness of SEO content and related website copy, like internal linking, SEO information gain, and content-related user experience.  

What You Need to Be the Right Fit: 

  • 2-3 years of SEO research, writing, and editorial experience for a digital publication or B2B company. 
  • Exceptional grasp of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Proficiency in applying popular style guidelines such as the Chicago Manual of Style or AP Stylebook, as well as internal style guidelines like our SEO Blog Content Style Guide and How to Write Substantive Content Confluence guide.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Experience collaborating with writers, designers, and marketing teams. 
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMSs) like HubSpot and Microsoft Office. 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Experience in the hospitality, tech, restaurant, or convenience store industries. 
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and experience optimizing copy for search engines. 
  • Familiarity with digital publishing tools and software like HubSpot and Surfer SEO. 

Role Reports To: 

The SEO Content Specialist reports to the Paytronix Content Marketing Manager. 

Salary range: $65k-$70k
