We are a team of public service entrepreneurs who are passionate about solving hard problems. We trust and help each other, and love diving into challenges together. We believe empathy, curiosity, integrity, courage, and excellent execution are key to building impactful software. If mission-focused work is your north star, come build with us. We’re just getting started.
The Role
As Peregrine’s BI + Analytics Engineer, you’ll play a foundational role in shaping how data is modeled, accessed, and used across the company. You will own the architecture and execution of our internal analytics stack, partnering closely with stakeholders across Product, Sales, Finance, and Operations to turn raw data into insight and insight into action.
This is a highly cross-functional and high-visibility role — you’ll work directly with leaders across the business to define KPIs, automate workflows, and level up our data infrastructure. If you're a hands-on builder who thrives in ambiguity, loves translating business questions into clean data pipelines, and wants to shape the future of data at a mission-driven company, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Own and scale our data warehouse to support a fast-growing GTM and product ecosystem
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines using dbt to integrate data from tools, apps, and third-party platforms
- Design clean, reusable data models that power reporting across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance
- Create dashboards and analysis that uncover trends in revenue, product usage, and customer behavior
- Set up data quality checks and alerts to ensure accurate, timely, and trustworthy data
- Support planning and forecasting by partnering with teams to define KPIs and build forward-looking models
What We Look For
- 4+ years of experience as a BI Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or Data Engineer in a fast-growing tech environment
- Strong command of SQL and data modeling best practices
- Proficiency in dbt, modern data warehouses (Snowflake/BigQuery), and orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect)
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Hex, Mode, Sigma, or similar
- Strong product and business sense — you know how to balance technical purity with speed, scalability, and impact
- Comfort working autonomously and owning projects end-to-end
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate complex concepts to non-technical audiences
- Located in San Francisco, CA and willing to work in our headquarters
