Summary
The SVP of Planning is a strategic leader responsible for the financial success and profitability of our Direct to Consumer (DTC) and Wholesale businesses. This role provides leadership, direction, and support to the entire planning organization, ensuring we meet our financial objectives and maximize business opportunities across all channels. This includes comprehensive oversight of supply chain planning, demand planning, and business planning.This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be located in Miami, Florida.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial & Strategic Planning: Partner with the President of DTC & Wholesale to build and develop financial budgets and brand-specific plans, ensuring gross margin and profitability goals are met across all business units.
- Team Leadership & Development: Hire, train, and manage a team of omni-channel planners and managers. Foster a high-performance environment that promotes the professional and personal development of team members at all levels.
- Operational Excellence: Establish best practices for all planning areas, ensuring timely and precise communication across Planning, Stores, Merchandising, Purchasing, Sourcing, and Warehouses.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Work with planners to achieve a high in-stock rate for both stores and e-commerce, while also meeting company inventory turnover goals. Develop and implement supply chain and logistics improvements for all channels.
- Business Analysis & Optimization: Drive margin improvement through detailed Gross Margin Return on Investment (GMROI) analysis. Oversee all coordinated efforts to ensure an adequate return on asset investment.
- Market & Competitor Insights: Understand competitors' strengths and weaknesses to build effective strategies. Collaborate with buyers and upper management to create plans that achieve financial targets.
- Technology & Systems: Work with the MIS department to discover new methods and techniques for evaluating businesses and improving current processes.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Provide monthly updates to management to discuss current issues, solutions, and opportunities, and to develop supporting strategies.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Exceptional retail math and analytical skills.
- Proven track record in both DTC and wholesale planning across a range of brands.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and the ability to navigate internal systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex financial and merchandise-related problems.
- Proven leader with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
- Experience working with senior management to achieve corporate goals.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- 10+ years of retail and/or wholesale buying and planning experience.
- Upper-management experience is a must.
