If you have a good attitude and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done, PitchBook is the place for you.
About the Role:
As a member of the Product and Engineering team at PitchBook, you will be part of a team of big thinkers, innovators, and problem solvers who strive to deepen the positive impact we have on our customers and our company every day. We value curiosity and the drive to find better ways of doing things. We thrive on customer empathy, which remains our focus when creating excellent customer experiences through product innovation.
We know that greatness is achieved through collaboration and diverse points of view, so we work closely with partners around the globe. As a team, we assume positive intent in each other’s words and actions, value constructive discussions, and foster a respectful working environment built on integrity, growth, and business value. We invest heavily in our people, who are eager to learn and constantly improve. Join our team and grow with us!
The AI CoBE team sits within PitchBook's Product & Engineering organization and is chartered with enabling AI adoption across all business functions. The team builds and operates shared AI platforms, manages tool access and governance, develops reusable workflow patterns, and provides the infrastructure and guardrails that allow business users to experiment safely and scale confidently.
You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Data Science, Security, Legal, and—critically—the business functions you serve. Your team empowers users who are not engineers to leverage AI in their daily workflows, so strong user empathy and clear communication are as important as technical excellence.
As Engineering Manager, AI Center of Business Enablement (CoBE), you will lead the team responsible for building and operating the platforms that bring AI capabilities directly to PitchBook's business users—across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and beyond. This is not a research or prototyping role: your mission is to turn AI possibilities into practical, governed, day-to-day tools that help every function in the company work smarter.
You will serve as the connective tissue between cutting-edge AI tooling and the real needs of internal business users. Your team owns the foundational layers that make AI usable, safe, and scalable—from agent creation and workflow automation to self-service enablement and enterprise-grade governance. You act as a force multiplier, helping business teams move from ad-hoc experiments to repeatable, production-grade capabilities that create measurable value.
You will blend hands-on technical depth with genuine empathy for non-technical stakeholders, translating what's possible in AI into what's actually useful—and ensuring it reaches the people who need it most.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Deeply understand the needs of business users across functions (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations) and translate them into practical AI-powered capabilities
- Champion the business user experience—ensuring AI tools are intuitive, well-documented, and adopted widely, not just technically available
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-value AI use cases and move them from idea to production
- Build and maintain "golden path" solutions that make it easy for non-technical users to get value from AI safely
- Own and execute the AI Enablement roadmap, including managed tool access, agent creation, workflow orchestration, and context management
- Build platforms that support safe experimentation, scaling of successful AI patterns, and delivery of production-grade AI solutions
- Ensure AI platforms provide consistent context, auditability, lineage, and observability across users, agents, and workflows
- Enable teams to transition from ad-hoc AI experiments to managed, reusable capabilities embedded in daily workflows
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, psychological safety, ownership, and continuous learning
- Set a high bar for engineering quality, including code reviews, test coverage, and operational excellence
- Identify and remove impediments; protect your team's focus while keeping stakeholders informed and aligned
- Hire and retain exceptional engineering talent; build a team with diverse backgrounds and complementary strengths
- Partner with Security and Legal to ensure AI usage meets compliance, data governance, and risk requirements
- Establish standards and best practices for responsible AI use across the organization
- Ensure platforms are reliable, secure, and auditable—building trust with business users and leadership
- Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on platforms, integration, or enablement work
- 2+ years in an engineering leadership or management role with direct reports
- Hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI/LLM-based systems in production environments
- Familiarity with AI orchestration and agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar workflow engines)
- Strong Python skills; experience building APIs or platform services consumed by other teams
- Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS and/or GCP), including containerization (Kubernetes/Docker)
- Demonstrated ability to engage non-technical business stakeholders—explain AI capabilities clearly and build trust with end users
- Experience designing secure, governed access to data, tools, and services
- Strong systems-thinking skills: ability to design platforms that scale across teams and diverse use cases
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable presenting to both engineers and business leaders
- Experience in a Center of Excellence, platform engineering, or internal developer/user experience team
- Background in B2B SaaS, financial data, or similarly data-rich environments
- Java experience alongside Python
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools (e.g., Workato, Airflow) and marketing or business technology stacks
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

This role is expected to be in the office 5 days a week.
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
