ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative to grow sales and expand PRESENCE’s market presence within the MD, DC, VA, and NC territory.

As an outside Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in our organization's sales success, directly responsible for growing sales dollars and expanding market presence within your assigned territory. This full-time, field-based position is focused on selling, building relationships, developing new business opportunities, and executing sales plans. You’ll spend four days a week in the field engaging with customers and managing a territory-based call cycle and one day in a home office setting. Sales Representatives are results-driven, persuasive, and motivated individuals who excel in selling and achieving new business growth.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

  • Sales/Territory Management/Business Development – As an outside Sales Representative, your primary responsibility is ownership of your territory and actively managing a strategic call cycle to grow sales at existing accounts and secure new business. Building strong relationships with buyers, presenting compelling sales opportunities, and executing effective sales strategies will be key to your role. Regular travel is required to meet face-to-face with accounts in your territory, with additional travel as needed.
  • Achieving Sales Targets – You will be accountable for achieving territory sales goals, new item placements, and account development. Your sales performance will be evaluated based on sales dollars within your assigned territory, successful new item placements, account reach, and new accounts. You will develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed these goals.
  • In-Field Execution & Relationship Building – Success in this role requires consistent in-person engagement with accounts and strong relationship management. Travel within your assigned territory four days per week for face-to-face interactions with buyers and store managers. Attend industry events, tradeshows, and meetings to strengthen partnerships and stay informed on market trends. Provide in-store execution, such as ensuring promotional displays are set up, shelf tags are accurate, and stock is properly rotated.
  • Sales-Driven Execution – You will be responsible for implementing sales initiatives, promotional programs, photo documentation for retail execution and brand growth strategies at your accounts. You will also check shelf tags, rotate stock, and perform audits when needed.
  • Collaboration & Communication – Maintain proactive, solution-driven communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with sales leadership, brand partners, and internal teams to align on goals and initiatives.
  • Provide market insights, competitive intelligence, and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Data & Analytics – Utilizing sales data and market insights is critical to identifying opportunities and maximizing sales. You will analyze key metrics, including SPINS, Nielsen, Power BI, store-level void reports, and distributor data, to make informed decisions that drive sales performance.

This role requires a high degree of ownership, autonomy, independent decision-making, self-motivation, and the ability to influence sales growth within an assigned market.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Territory Requirement – Due to the field-based nature of this role, you are required to live within the assigned territory and regularly meet in person with retailers, brand partners, coworkers, and customers, as well as visit stores throughout the territory.
  • Proven ability to sell, negotiate, and build lasting client relationships.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience managing a sales pipeline and meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the assigned territory (four days per week in the field). Travel is required
