The Opportunity
Poppulo products are based on the Harmony platform that has wide-ranging capabilities across different communication channels. These can be integrated to improve engineering efficiency and customer experience. Poppulo sees unique opportunity in employing AI to improve communication content and workflow under the umbrella of Poppulo AI. Poppulo is expanding engineering teams in India in addition to our engineering teams in USA, England and Ireland. You will work alongside a fun, and highly motivated team of cross functional engineers (Development, QA, PM, UX/UI, Big Data). Writing high quality, secure and scalable code, we follow agile culture to develop exciting products that meet our clients’ current & future needs.
Poppulo has initiated the exercise of creating a Design System that will deliver a cohesive and consistent brand experience across all Poppulo products. We are looking for a Principal Engineer who will be a key contributor to this initiative, responsible for building and ongoing enhancements to the system. This role requires working in partnership with the Product Design team to design and build a shared library of reusable patterns and components. It also requires evangelizing these components to the developer community within Poppulo, facilitating feedback loops that drive improvements to the system, ultimately increasing its adoption. By creating components and libraries that can be reused across development teams and products, this position has organization wide relevance.
We are seeking an experienced UI developer who has an eye for detail, appreciates UI design and loves working with both the developer and product design community.
Key Responsibilities :
- Understand and align with Poppulo Design System vision to create reusable components and libraries that drive consistency and quality across Poppulo’s product experiences
- Collaborate with Product Design team to incorporate design guidelines and contribute to the development of Poppulo Design System
- Evangelize the components and library to Poppulo’s developer community
- Maintain and enhance reusable components and library to address upcoming requirements
- Address accessibility and internationalization aspects of the system
Requirements:
- At least 7 years experience in UI/UX.
- Good understanding of JavaScript fundamentals.
- Good understanding of TypeScript fundamentals.
- Good understanding and experience with build tools – Webpack, Rollup, Vite, etc.
- Experience with one or more popular UI libraries/frameworks – Angular/React etc.
- Experience developing UI components for a wide variety of enterprise use-cases.
- Understanding of JavaScript design patterns.
- Expert knowledge in CSS and HTML.
- Experience with Accessibility and Internationalization.
- Experience working with design teams in adopting style guides and incorporating assets created by design teams. Experience with tools like Figma.
- Prior experience developing a Design System and understanding of best practices.
- Experience with code and design reviews of UI/UX development work.
- Experience with performance improvement and debugging of UI development issues.
- The ability to accurately quantify the time/effort to code, support prioritisation and roadmapping of components.
- An eye for detail - can spot differences with ease, may include fonts, alignment, colour etc
- Passion and perseverance.
- Pragmatic and collaborative.
- Leadership skills to advocate for the framework, evangelize the use of components and mentor developers
