Summer Intern - Digital
Overview
Porter Novelli is the strategic communications company, fueled by innovation, empowering clients to do business better in an ever-changing world. Data insight-led, we help businesses courageously navigate culture and engage audiences with precision. Our diverse and curious global team creates transformative communications strategies that drive action, shape reputation and accelerate growth.
This is an opportunity for students who are looking to gain experience in integrated communications working alongside our world class communications professionals. During this ten-week paid internship experience you will be working with the PN Digital team, within PN’s new “Innovation Engine” strategic services department.
You will be challenged to think differently, to bring diversity of thinking and experience and contribute to purposefully driven digital, social, and influencer activities for our clients across PN’s six practices. You will brush up on your social media savvy (and, hopefully, pick up some new skills), learn how to critically assess and analyze campaigns, and help our agency communicate at the speed of culture in an increasingly digital world. You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to the continued growth of the Digital team, from thought leadership to collaboration across practices and specialties (e.g., analytics, paid media, strategy, creative).
The internship program will run from June 2nd – August 8th. This is a full-time position, and you will work three days a week from our Atlanta office.
What you will do:
- Support multiple account teams with various projects, including (but not limited to) content development, community management, executive visibility, trendspotting, and influencer research
- Learn how to use cutting-edge technologies and platforms for social listening, media mapping, and advanced audience analytics and apply insights to client requests and analyses
- Monitor social media channels for relevant trends, brand, and competitor coverage; help forecast social conversation trends through data-driven analysis
- Help to research and vet potential influencer partners; provide recommendations for new targets
- Learn how to evaluate and critically analyze campaign results to help glean insights that inform and inspire future programs
- Liaise with PN analytics, paid media, and creative teams to help ensure connectivity and efficient workflows
- Help coordinate team meetings, call agendas, team notes, and administrative support for special events and/or conferences
- Contribute to ongoing PN Digital thought leadership, including trends reports and updates on the latest and greatest platform and industry news (e.g., platform updates, industry regulations, artificial intelligence)
- Participate in office, agency, and team-wide initiatives, including professional development, new business, and brainstorm sessions
The experience that will contribute to your success:
- You are currently enrolled as a junior at an accredited college or university
- You can efficiently organize and manage multiple tasks with a keen eye for details
- You can collaborate with a wide-ranging and cross-functional team, escalating issues and proactively advancing projects as needed
- You are comfortable using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) or other creative development platforms (Canva) is a plus
- Ability to work full-time (M-F) for the duration of the internship, reporting to our office 3 days each week
- You are driven, energetic and understand that bringing a great attitude to work is the key ingredient for success
- You are constantly curious about the digital landscape and its latest trends, nuances, and innovations
- You are willing to raise your hand, participate actively in your day-to-day work, and pursue new skills
