Red Cell is looking to hire an experienced Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will provide management with financial information by assisting in the monthly accounting of multiple related entities in the healthcare industry, analyzing accounts and preparing monthly reporting packages.
You will report to the Red Cell Partner’s Controller. This is a remote position, where the candidate is expected to travel to our office in McLean, Virginia or another company site occasionally throughout the year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system.
- Assist in the day-to-day accounting of multiple related entities in the healthcare industry, including cash reconciliation, accounts payable, expense reports (both credit cards and reimbursement of expenses), expenses allocation and payroll posting.
- Prepare recurring and non-recurring general ledger entries.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Help maintain appropriate financial records for vendor accounts and contractors.
- Assist in the preparation of annual 1099's.
- Generate, organize and compile information and support documents to complete tax filings and annual audit.
- Work cross functionally with members of the Accounting, Finance and Operations team.
- Assist FP&A and Finance departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience.
- Solid experience with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience doing balance sheet reconciliations, monthly soft closes and quarterly hard closes.
- Experience preparing and reconciling financial statements (including footnotes).
- Experience with MSO-PC structures, including the systems to revenues and expenses for each PC and MSO entity and practice locations.
- Strict attention to details and highly organized, with a "roll up sleeves" work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn and process new concepts quickly.
- Ability to work independently and assume
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-pace environment
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and to manage upward communication across multiple stakeholders.
- Preferred:
- Certified Public Accounting license.
- Knowledge of Bill.com and Concur.
- Knowledge of accounting for stock-based compensation as well as lease accounting.

Salary Range: $140,000-$175,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience, skills, and other factors.
