Senior ML Engineer, Perception
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ML Engineer to join our innovative AI robotics company, taking our AI capability to the next level. In this role, you will develop the core AI capabilities that enable RoboForce robot to understand the dynamic and general environments. You will work closely with AI Robotics expertise to build the robust onboard and offboard foundations for next-gen robots.

Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative computer vision models, algorithms, and formulations for a wide range of tasks, owning the entire development life cycle from data preparation to model deployment.
- Develop state-of-the-art algorithms in areas including deep learning (CNNs), object detection/classification, 6D pose estimation, tracking, dense depth estimation, and large language models (LLMs).
- Develop pipelines for multi-task learning, large-scale distributed training, and multi-sensor fusion.
- Deploy the model on RoboForce robots as a product.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Machine Learning, AI, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical field and 8+ years of industry experience in AI/Robotics domain.
- Expert programming skills on C++ and Python.
- Understanding of multimodal models, modern ML architectures (transformers, diffusion models, etc.).
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, or similar.
- Strong understanding of linear algebra, geometry, probabilistic theory, numerical optimization, and deep learning, with practical experience in implementing these concepts.
- Expertise in key areas of computer vision and robotics, including structure-from-motion, Visual-Inertial SLAM, large-scale mapping and localization, dense 3D modeling, or neural rendering techniques such as NeRF and Gaussian Splatting.
- Ready for high pace at fast-growing startup.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Machine Learning, AI, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical field with at least 3 years experience.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement ML experimentation and data pipelines with high-quality code that enables fast iteration cycles.
- Experience with neural network deployment tool chains and techniques, including TensorRT and model quantization.
- A strong publication record demonstrating expertise in developing and deploying perception solutions.
- Experience with GPU programming with CUDA
