Communications Manager

Position Overview:
The Communications Manager will develop and implement strategies that support the Jewish Home & Rehab Center, Frank Residences, Development, and campus-wide projects and initiatives. It serves as a key content creator and project manager, ensuring that all communications are clear, consistent, and aligned with our mission to provide older adults with comprehensive and innovative care that fosters purpose, dignity, and joy.
Working in partnership with a small but mighty team comprised of the Marketing Director and the Senior Designer & Media Manager, this role requires both broad vision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications
Develop, write, and implement comprehensive communication plans that maintain consistent voice, tone, and branding while safeguarding SFCJL’s reputation.
Lead the creation and execution of strategic work plans to produce compelling multi-channel content—including newsletters, websites, press releases, announcements, presentations, brochures, social media, scripts, email campaigns, invitations, programs, signage, reports, articles, and intranet updates.
Tailor messaging to engage diverse audiences: residents, patients, families, employees, donors, and the broader community.
Content Creation & Management
Oversee the end-to-end production of communication materials, ensuring quality and timely delivery across platforms.
Manage daily content creation, scheduling, and publishing for social media to maximize engagement.
Maintain and enhance the intranet to strengthen internal communication and connection.
Ensure compliance with consent and copyright policies; organize, label, and archive visual assets.
Performance & Events
Monitor, analyze, and report on communication metrics to guide strategy and optimize engagement.
Support in-person and virtual events with clear, engaging messaging before, during, and after events.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
At least 7 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or related fields.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills adaptable for multiple audiences and channels.
Strong project management and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments.
High emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and the ability to work collaboratively or independently.
Proficiency with digital tools, social media platforms, email marketing systems, Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new technologies.
Familiarity with Jewish culture, traditions, and values preferred.
Experience in healthcare, Jewish organizations, or senior living sectors a plus.

What You’ll Do as an MDS Coordinator:As the MDS (Minimum Data Set) Coordinator, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely scheduling, completion, and transmission of MDS assessments. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring compliance with Medicare, OBRA, and Title 22 regulations while supporting care planning and reimbursement processes. This position serves as a liaison between interdisciplinary teams and state and federal regulatory agencies.
Ensure compliance with all Medicare, OBRA, and Title 22 guidelines.
Review and confirm Medicare entitlement and eligibility for prospective residents.
Conduct utilization review (UR) and support reimbursement processes.
Oversee the collection of data for MDS assessments and care plans.
Schedule and facilitate care plan conferences with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Participate in relevant committees and communicate pertinent issues and resolutions.
Input or supervise MDS assessment entries, transmit data to the state, and obtain validation reports.
Manage the care planning process to ensure timely and appropriate updates.
Perform chart audits to confirm documentation supports MDS submissions.
Identify residents with significant changes in condition, initiate assessments, and manage interdisciplinary communication.
Monitor and ensure MDS documentation and charting support regulatory and billing requirements.
Provide timely completion of reports and communicate updates to relevant departments.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and a current, valid California RN license required.
Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of the RAI process, Medicare regulations, and CMS/state documentation guidelines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to coordinate multiple priorities, manage deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
Ability to sit at a computer and use electronic systems for extended periods.

Position Summary
The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for leading the design, delivery, and administration of compensation, benefits, and recognition programs that attract, retain, and engage talent across Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living operations. This role partners closely with HR and Finance to ensure total rewards programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational strategy, with a strong emphasis on compensation strategy and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation
Serve as the primary subject matter expert on compensation, advising HR Partners, Talent Acquisition and senior leaders.
Analyze compensation data and market trends to inform strategy and decision-making.
Manage participation in compensation surveys and partnerships with external vendors.
Lead the annual compensation planning and review cycle in ADP.
Support job evaluations, salary structure design, and market benchmarking.
Maintain compensation frameworks, policies, and data accuracy.

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, lookups; macros a plus).
Experience with HRIS platforms; ADP Workforce Now preferred.
