Communications Manager

Position Overview:
The Communications Manager will develop and implement strategies that support the Jewish Home & Rehab Center, Frank Residences, Development, and campus-wide projects and initiatives. It serves as a key content creator and project manager, ensuring that all communications are clear, consistent, and aligned with our mission to provide older adults with comprehensive and innovative care that fosters purpose, dignity, and joy.
Working in partnership with a small but mighty team comprised of the Marketing Director and the Senior Designer & Media Manager, this role requires both broad vision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications
Develop, write, and implement comprehensive communication plans that maintain consistent voice, tone, and branding while safeguarding SFCJL’s reputation.
Lead the creation and execution of strategic work plans to produce compelling multi-channel content—including newsletters, websites, press releases, announcements, presentations, brochures, social media, scripts, email campaigns, invitations, programs, signage, reports, articles, and intranet updates.
Tailor messaging to engage diverse audiences: residents, patients, families, employees, donors, and the broader community.
Content Creation & Management
Oversee the end-to-end production of communication materials, ensuring quality and timely delivery across platforms.
Manage daily content creation, scheduling, and publishing for social media to maximize engagement.
Maintain and enhance the intranet to strengthen internal communication and connection.
Ensure compliance with consent and copyright policies; organize, label, and archive visual assets.
Performance & Events
Monitor, analyze, and report on communication metrics to guide strategy and optimize engagement.
Support in-person and virtual events with clear, engaging messaging before, during, and after events.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
At least 7 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or related fields.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills adaptable for multiple audiences and channels.
Strong project management and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments.
High emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and the ability to work collaboratively or independently.
Proficiency with digital tools, social media platforms, email marketing systems, Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new technologies.
Familiarity with Jewish culture, traditions, and values preferred.
Experience in healthcare, Jewish organizations, or senior living sectors a plus.

This includes the Frank Residences, which offer luxurious assisted living and memory care services; the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center, featuring long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an acute psychiatric unit specializing in mental healthcare for older adults (age 55 and over); and the Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation.

Position Overview:
The position requires excellent organizational skills, with proficiency in Outlook 360, Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. This position will work closely with the Infection Preventionists and HumanResources staff to monitor and document vaccine status of employees and contract labor. Theposition requires the ability to accurately enter data into Excel and manage the informationbeing entered. The assistant must be able to effectively and efficiently communicate withstaff and appropriate departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain and update spreadsheets for staff, volunteers, contractors and students that include Covid vaccinations and boosters, and generate a weekly report.
Maintain spreadsheets for yearly influenza vaccination status.
Work with Human Resources to keep proof of vaccinations in employee files.
Monitor testing of staff that are not up-to-date with their Covid vaccine, ensuring they are tested as dictated by regulation and notifying Human Resources if they do not test.
Monitor Covid test results and notify staff of positive Covid tests and testing protocol .
Assist with organizing and implementing staff vaccination clinics.
Enter vaccine information to regulatory system (CAIR).
Track, monitor and document fit testing for new staff and annual retesting.
Maintain courteous and friendly communication.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient with computers and experience with Outlook 360, Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
Ability to enter and manager a large amount of data.
Sound organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, religions, etc.

Full-Time - 40 hours per week, days off Monday & Tuesday, schedule will work through weekends.

What You’ll Do as a Security Guard:As a Security Guard at the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living, you will help ensure the safety and security of residents, visitors, staff, and property by monitoring premises, controlling access, responding to alarms and emergencies, and providing a visible security presence.
Monitor and authorize entrance of employees, visitors, and others to maintain security on campus.
Patrol the grounds and perimeter, watch for unusual activity or safety hazards, and secure doors and windows.
Control and enforce vehicle and pedestrian access on campus grounds.
Monitor staff parking lots for compliance with parking policies.
Respond to door alarms, elopement alerts, and fire alarms; investigate and take appropriate action.
Assist during emergencies, contacting police or fire departments as needed.
Receive, inspect, and sign for courier packages, mail, and deliveries.
Complete daily activity and incident reports documenting irregularities such as damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or other incidents.
Answer main telephone line calls when the switchboard is closed; take messages and provide information.
Monitor Security Operation Center (SOC) cameras and dispatch responses to alarms, alerts, and suspicious activities.
Assist with equipment checks and operation in mechanical rooms as needed.
Respond to after-hours maintenance calls to assess needs.
Maintain a professional appearance and provide high-level customer service.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current and valid California Guard Card required.
Three years of security guard experience preferred; healthcare experience a plus.
Experience with Security Operation Center or control room preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions in English.
Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
