Job Purpose:

The Group Account Director plays a pivotal role in driving integrated marketing solutions for our clients. This leadership position demands a deep understanding of cross-channel strategies, strong business acumen, and a proven ability to deliver innovative, creative solutions. The GAD will galvanize multi-disciplinary teams to achieve client objectives and drive agency growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Client Partnership: Cultivate and expand strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and leveraging Ogilvy Africa's full capabilities to meet their evolving needs.
  • Strategic Planning & Thought Leadership: Collaborate with strategists and senior leadership to develop and execute growth plans, exceeding client expectations through proactive planning and innovative thinking. Contribute to Ogilvy Africa's thought leadership within the industry.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams, providing guidance and mentorship to account teams while ensuring all disciplines contribute effectively within scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Financial Management: Oversee account budgets, forecasting, revenue growth, and profitability for both the agency and clients. Negotiate contracts and manage resources effectively.
  • Project Management & Execution: Drive seamless project execution, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery that meets or exceeds quality standards.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, delivering impactful presentations and fostering strong internal and external relationships.
  • Market Analysis & Insights: Collaborate with strategists to analyze market research and data, extracting actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to client relationships and project delivery, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and industry guidelines.
  • Cultural Sensitivity & Inclusion: Demonstrate a deep understanding of diverse client needs and cultural nuances, ensuring campaigns are inclusive and resonate with target audiences.
  • Foster a culture of creativity: Encourage and cultivate an environment where creativity thrives, empowering team members to explore new ideas, take risks, and approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in integrated marketing communications.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and build strong client relationships.
  • Advanced proficiency in relevant software tools for client management, strategic planning, creative development, project management, and performance measurement.
  • Excellent project management, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities, solve problems creatively, and think strategically.
  • Strong networking skills and a proven ability to develop new business relationships.
