The Role

We are seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated individual to join Schonfeld as Head of Asia Operations. A successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all middle and back office operational aspects of the Asia region across our four core investment strategies. You will have a strong background in hedge fund operations, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in managing complex operations in a global environment. You will foster a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment and have a keen aptitude towards continuous improvement in an ambitiously growing environment.

                                                                                                                                       

What you’ll do

The individual will be responsible for managing and leading the Asia operations team while ensuring operational excellence across the function. You will be responsible for building and developing a team of top talent that drives Schonfeld towards a best-in-class operations department.  

 

  • Self-starter and charismatic leader with strong sense of ownership, capable of delivering, driving, and shaping results
  • Partner with our investment teams across APAC to assist in their operational processes and help define new product workflows
  • Collaborate with other Heads of the APAC platform, including trading, treasury, technology, to ensure the operational framework is robust and efficient
  • Work closely with technology to build systems and processes that mitigate operational risks, improve speed, accuracy and accessibility of information and transactions
  • Build relationships with Partner funds to assist with the optimisation of their operational processes as part of our SMA program
  • Liaise with our Prime and Executing Broker counterparties to drive deliverables
  • Improve our current process by creating tactical enhancements that lead to strategic solutions, increased efficiencies, and automated workflows
  • Work across asset classes, strategies, and markets globally
  • Manage and lead a large team of geographically disperse people
  • Develop relationships with key external service providers, ensuring oversight of outsourced processes and optimizing working relationships
  • In efforts of operational oversight and documentation: coordinate with various teams to help author a best practices procedures manual, implement and monitor
  • Help suggest areas of improvement that will benefit all stakeholders across organizational processes as a center for controls and excellence
  • Illustrations of high-risk workflows for knowledge sharing across all departments
  • Build metrics across all sub-departments within Operations to track relevant KPI’s and analytics

 

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • Deep understanding of Asia markets across listed and OTC
  • Strong relationship with Prime Brokers in the Asia region
  • Understanding of key regulatory initiatives in the Asia region
  • Exceptional orientation and passion for details and data normalization
  • Organizational skills, with a strong appreciation for data cataloging when managing projects
  • Time management skills with relevance to project deadlines and prioritization of projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to adhere to the firm’s ethos and enhance team-to-team communication
  • Curiosity for learning and understanding how things work and systems interact
  • Committed, able to work under pressure and great team player

 

We’d love if you had:

  • Any experience with productivity tools (Confluence, JIRA, Visio, or MIRO)
  • Exposure to Enfusion, Coremont and Traiana
