The Role

We are looking for a Director of the DMFI COO Office to be based in our New York office. The successful candidate will be a central point of contact for DMFI Portfolio Managers, taking a lead role with regards to enabling ongoing growth and development of our business, by helping design and deliver on key initiatives and projects for the team.

What you’ll do

  • Business Management
    • Oversight of outsourcing arrangements for the Portfolio Management Systems and associated operational processes, including requirements gathering for new initiatives, prioritization of development requests and acting as a point person for escalation.
    • Manage the full vendor life cycle: negotiate contracts, define SLAs, conduct strategic performance reviews, and oversee remediation plans.
    • Identify and implement cost‑efficiency and service‑enhancement initiatives across the business.
    • Lead strategic, cross‑functional projects across operations, treasury, compliance, and technology—owning end‑to‑end delivery and change management, and ensuring these projects are appropriately prioritized in the overall book of work.
    • Assist in providing budgetary oversight, cost/benefit analysis, and controls across the Operations, Investment, Product and Technology professionals that support DMFI within Schonfeld.
    • Design and optimize core operational processes to enhance scalability, control, and risk management as the business expands.
    • Develop, maintain, and present dashboards, KPI reports, and management reports to drive data‑informed decision‑making.
    • Engage senior stakeholders to set priorities, communicate progress, and align on strategic objectives.
    • Maintain working dialogues with sell side (execution/trading counterparties and prime brokers) to ensure the needs of the business are met.
    • Utilize technical skills to build decision support tools, dashboards, and drive Business Process Automation (BPA).
    • Monitor industry and regulatory developments in fixed income market structure and the execution landscape.

 

  • Portfolio Manager (PM) Interface
    • Point of contact for PMs who trade within the DMFI strategy, managing relationships across various aspects of their lifecycle including initial launch and ongoing growth of their strategies.
    • Onboard new PMs and their respective teams, onto the Schonfeld Platform.
    • Coordinate pre-launch testing, market data, and trading integrations for newly on-boarded PMs.
    • Project manage deliverables and timelines throughout PM onboarding process.
    • Partner with Macro and Fixed Income PMs, to translate business requirements into streamlined workflows.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience on the buy side.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with PMs, senior investment professionals and management.
  • Deep knowledge of macro and fixed‑income products (e.g., government bonds, rates derivatives, FX and credit) and their workflows
  • An understanding of pricing and valuations of macro and fixed income securities
  • Ability to develop structure and framework to guide prioritization and decision making based on expected return of initiatives.
  • Fluency within trading technology, execution infrastructure, market data, portfolio and execution management systems.
  • Vendor‑management expertise, including contract negotiation and SLA governance.
  • Exceptional analytical, process design, and project management capabilities.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; adept at presenting complex analyses to executive audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Experience in Python or PowerBI is a strong plus.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Exemplary discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $200,000 and $250,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
