UX Designer - LiveOps Automation Team
Scopely is looking for a UX Designer to join our LiveOps Automation team within our Live Games Portfolio on a hybrid/remote basis.
At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.
You’ll be joining the LiveOps Automation team at Scopely, where we are shaping the next generation of game operations tools that utilize Machine Learning and AI to empower scalability, personalization, and efficiency through data-driven systems. Our mission is to unlock smarter, faster, and more impactful ways for game teams to manage LiveOps strategies. This role is pivotal in helping to define the future of Scopely’s game operations.
What You Will Do
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to define the UX strategy for scalable, multi-title LiveOps systems.
- Translate complex internal workflows, game-specific logic, and campaign configuration needs into intuitive, elegant platform experiences.
- Design and own end-to-end experiences that enable LiveOps Managers to manage LiveOps campaigns with minimal overhead.
- Define and maintain a cross-platform design system that brings consistency and clarity across a suite of tools while enabling flexibility for game-specific needs.
- Lead UX discovery across ambiguous problem spaces by synthesizing research insights, stakeholder inputs, and platform constraints into actionable product direction.
- Facilitate co-design workshops and alignment sessions with internal users (LiveOps Managers, game teams, …) to bring operational reality into design decisions.
- Continuously refine and evolve our tooling through feedback loops, usability testing, and live telemetry, ensuring the platform evolves to meet user needs at scale.
- Collaborate with Fullstack Engineers to ensure high-quality implementation of interaction patterns, component libraries, and responsive layouts.
- Follow and incorporate the latest UX design thinking practices throughout the ideation and design process to stay ahead of industry trends and competitors.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience designing complex tools, platforms, or enterprise-level internal systems, ideally with multiple user types and workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to lead UX strategy across interconnected tools and products, preferably in data-rich or technical domains (e.g., analytics, CRM, or ML tools).
- Strong capability in designing scalable UX architectures that balance customization and consistency across stakeholders and game teams.
- Client-first mindset: You advocate for your users in every conversation and use User-Centered Design frameworks to drive meaningful outcomes.
- Expertise in wireframes, user journeys, prototypes, and design systems that communicate multi-layered product flows and logic.
- Strong experience conducting or partnering on user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews to validate hypotheses and shape experience design.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and iteration and able to frame problems clearly to move teams toward high-impact decisions.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills—you can explain complex UX tradeoffs clearly and influence cross-functional partners.
- Proficient in Figma and modern collaboration tools (Miro, Notion, Jira, etc).
Bonus Points
- Experience with platforms involving AI, automation, or internal campaign tools
- Background in the F2P gaming industry or LiveOps systems
- Familiarity with analytics/experimentation tooling (e.g., A/B testing, telemetry dashboards)
- Experience collaborating with or designing for product managers, data scientists, and ML engineers
