Junior QA Engineers
Shift4 is expanding globally and expanding their QA division hiring three Junior QA Engineers! These individuals will be responsible for participating in evolution and execution of procedures for ensuring the quality of new features and releases of software, as well as developing, applying, and maintaining quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards.
This role is onsite based at any of the following Shift4 locations: Center Valley, PA / Butler, PA / Tampa, FL or Atlanta, GA
Responsibilities
- As a member of the technical/process QA division, design, install, and evaluate quality control methods and systems.
- Design continuing maintenance of product quality.
- Develop professional expertise, apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
- Display understanding of roles, processes, and procedures.
- Perform moderately complex problems solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Assists in the assessment and planning of test efforts required for new functions/features under development.
- Authorize and execute test cases/scripts and plan for manual and/or automated tests.
- Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures.
- Maintains documentation of test results.
- Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.
- Isolates, reproduces, manages, and maintains defect and test case databases, and verifies fixes.
- Develops product quality control inspection specification and techniques and interprets those trends.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related or experience in lieu of a degree.
- 2+ years of software / hardware test experience and / or customer support experience for payments / POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with developers and business analysts in design and feedback sessions.
- Experience in requirements gathering and documentation.
- Experience with test tools (i,e: Bug tracking, Life Cycle Management, Test Management).
- Experience as a user with Android operating system.
Preferred skills (Additional experience that is a plus to have):
- Experience with client-server and P2P applications.
- Worked with Java, Espresso, Kotlin applications.
- Experience with SQL Lite.
- Basic system/network administration knowledge (DHCP, Firewall, Wireless).
- POS (Point of Sale) systems experience.
- Programming/Development experience.
- Additional test tools (JIRA, TestRail, Eggplant).
- Worked with Peripherals (Cash Registers, 2D/3D scanners, MSR’s, Printers).
