ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Temporary Senior Repair Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair Shinola’s quartz and mechanical movement watches. The Temporary Senior Repair Technician should also be able to fully service the quartz and mechanical componentry of Shinola’s watches, inclusive of movement servicing. This role also requires strong collaboration with our Watchmaker and Service leadership team to continuously improve processes and strengthen team member training. This is a temporary position with an expected end date of February 27, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose potential issues within Shinola’s watches and clocks, ensuring precision and timely repair.
- Conduct advanced repairs on mechanical movements and components requiring disassembly, reassembly, or adjustment.
- Communicate and log diagnostic findings through the appropriate channels, inclusive of the Service repair tracking system.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained to ensure the repair work is completed to Shinola’s quality standards and free from defects.
- Support the training and skill development of Repair Technicians and Retail Watch Technicians, also known as Artisans, providing technical guidance and quality feedback.
- Partner with the Watchmaker and Service leadership to improve repair flow, documentation, diagnostic standards, and recommendations on corrective actions to prevent future failures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience as a Shinola Repair Technician or 2-3 years of similar watch repair experience.
- Proven ability to independently diagnose and service quartz and mechanical movement defects and watch case kit componentry to manufacturer standards.
- Experience training, mentoring, or coaching team members in a production environment.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, grow, and develop new skills. Ability to receive & action feedback.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access preferred) for data entry.
