About the Role:

The Financial Operations Associate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), expense management, payments, and ad hoc projects. This role will support the month-end close process, assist with expense auditing, help resolve payment discrepancies, and work cross-functionally to drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and passionate about building scalable financial processes in a fast-paced environment.


Your Impact to The Role: 

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Complete full-cycle AP activities including verifying, processing, and reconciling vendor invoices and statements.
  • Monitor and control expenses by ensuring proper coding and timely payment processing.
  • Maintain vendor records and manage W-9 documentation.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Generate and send invoices to clients and partners.
  • Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies and deduction claims by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Surface AR trends and support initiatives to improve collections and billing processes.

Expense Management

  • Review, audit, and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor and categorize company expenses.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly accruals.

Financial Reporting & Close Support

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Participate in the month-end close process, ensuring accurate reconciliation of AP and AR accounts.
  • Support audits and ensure data integrity across financial systems.

Ad Hoc Projects

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and workflow automation efforts.
  • Assist in special projects including payment systems implementation and financial operations scaling.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • 2+ years of experience in financial operations, AP/AR, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).

 

Bonus Points: 

  • Previous financial operations experience in a startup or high-growth company.
  • Passion for the creator economy and digital marketing.

New York Pay Range

$80,000 - $90,000 USD
