We are looking for: a senior, executive level U.S. Federal business development (BD) lead and Federal business portfolio manager to spearhead the growth of our business with the U.S. Government, including DoD, DoS, DoJ, DoE, DHS and Treasury. This individual will lead business and executive level engagements with senior government officials and their agents (including contractors) to demonstrate the value of SimSpace solutions (Products and Services) to meet U.S. Government technical and readiness/warfighting requirements across a broad range of governmental Departments. This role requires deep technical knowledge as well as superb inter-personal communication and relationship skills to build trust and confidence in SimSpace’s capabilities to meet complex requirements and demonstrate that capability to key stakeholders responsible for securing solutions to Government cyber security requirements.

What will you be doing as a Federal Sales Director, DoD at SimSpace?

  • Lead the company’s Federal sales and marketing efforts across all potential Departmental clients, with an emphasis on DoD/IC, DHS and DoS (DoE? DoT? HHS?).
  • Facilitate and lead complex technical discussions with both internal and external stakeholders on agency-level cybersecurity issues and potential solutions.
  • Present value propositions and potential SimSpace solutions to key Government officials and their representatives to advance the company’s business plan.
  • Be part of a senior leadership and executive team that effectively delivers high quality solutions for complex U.S. Government cybersecurity problems.
  • Monitor, and facilitate as needed, the execution of contracted deliverables, including participation in internal and external stakeholder meetings, reporting on deliverables to Government officials/representatives, and the performance of products and services in light of the requirements for which they were procured.
  • Act as a customer advocate, ensuring customer requirements are well understood by the SimSpace product and engineering teams while aligning customer expectations and tracking roadmap commitments
  • Lead and participate in the development of technical responses for solicitations and proposals (e.g. RFI/RFP), driving alignment of customer needs with SimSpace capabilities
  • Assist the Customer Success team to drive contract renewal and expansion activities with Federal customers as their agreements expire

Success Attributes/Profile:

  • Dynamic, highly skilled leader who excels at engaging senior executives and their representatives on solving complex problems, demonstrating solutions, and evangelizing groundbreaking capabilities in the Federal cybersecurity space.
  • Capable of communicating the value and benefits of SimSpace solutions to meet cybersecurity requirements to broad audiences and key Government stakeholders in various forums including strategic planning meetings, monthly status meetings and individual discussions.
  • Experience working with program offices and understand the complexities and nuances of the federal acquisition system, budget management processes and the federal sales cycle.
  • Capable of articulating Government requirements and technical specifications to internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of SimSpace product and service development and delivery with contractual obligations and/or potential business opportunities.
  • Have led (and will continue to lead for SimSpace) the charge to meet warfighter and/or agency requirements and are passionate about working with teams to deliver high quality, effective solutions to the most complex cybersecurity problems.

What are the qualifications to apply? To be successful as a Federal Sales Director DoD, you need to:

  • 10+ years of successful solution sales experience with 3+ years’ experience selling software security and/or infrastructure products within the Federal Government and DOD Community.
  • Experience and understanding working within the Federal Government’s procurement process, regulations, GSA schedule and GWACs.
  • An active DOD clearance with US Government badge preferred.  *Must be eligible to obtain a US Government clearance.
  • Strong understanding of Cybersecurity, DoD Certification process, and competitive offerings in the marketplace.
  • Demonstrated history of exceeding booking and revenue targets. Successful experience with target account selling, solution selling, and/or consultative sales techniques.
  • Must be a strong driver, a self-starter with an ability to build executive relationships, articulate Simspace product and business strategies, and create the demand that makes deals happen.
  • Able to work well independently and as part of a cohesive team with shared goals. Recognized experience developing and maintaining relationships with senior executives.
  • Must have an aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems and an ability to explain complicated concepts to a variety of audiences and skill levels.
  • Strong problem solving skills, ability to analyze complex multivariate problems and use a systematic approach to gain swift resolution.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills; both internally and externally.
  • Strong time management, organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work remotely and be able and willing to travel on short notice.
  • Possess the drive to succeed and to participate in the growth of an exciting, fast-paced startup.
