HR Operations Lead

In this role, you'll lead HR operations globally and manage a team reporting into the Global Director of Human Resources. Your mission will be to streamline HR processes, ensure compliance and data integrity, and enhance the Smartly employee experience worldwide - all while maintaining our culture of innovation, collaboration, and growth.

As an HR Operations Lead, you will…
- Lead and develop a high-performing HR Operations team to deliver best-in-class service across multiple regions.
- Own and continuously enhance core HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll, LOA, and benefits administration, driving efficiency and improving employee experience.
- Ensure data integrity and maintain compliance with global labor laws and regulations, implementing governance frameworks to mitigate risks.
- Design and implement automated workflows and AI-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency and scale HR processes effectively.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR Business Partners, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to align processes with strategic business goals.
- Drive the design and improvement of HR workflows that reflect Smartly’s collaborative, growth-focused culture.
- Develop clear, consistent employee support frameworks to improve communication on HR policies, processes, and programs.
- Lead internal audits, manage employee records, and establish proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and manage organizational reporting, leveraging key people metrics to inform strategic decisions and track OKRs.
- Implement global mobility and oversee global work visa processes; partner with legal teams, immigration vendors, and leadership to support employee movement while ensuring compliance.
We are looking for you if you have…
- 8+ years of experience in HR or related HR roles with 3+ years in management
- Worked in global organizations and have experience coordinating with teams across multiple time zones.
- Proven experience managing HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge Workday and advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong familiarity with employment laws and compliance requirements across multiple regions
- Demonstrated ability to analyze HR data, create dashboards, and generate insights to inform decision-making
- Strong project management skills with experience driving process improvements and automation
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications..
- Experience in a tech, startup, or fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with AI tools and automation to improve HR workflows.
- Certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
The base pay range for this position is as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus. We take into consideration an individual’s background, expertise, and experience in determining final salary.
