PR, Editorial and Publishing Manager

Role Overview: 

PlayStation Latin America is seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to be part of our team.

The PR, Editorial and Publishing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing the proper PR initiatives within the local media partners and the social media marketing strategy across key owned PlayStation social media channels in CASSA region (Central America Spanish South America).

You will be responsible for leading all aspects of strategic planning, daily operations, Global content support, Local content development, reporting and analysis. You will be tasked to increase PlayStation community engagements, and drive awareness and consideration of PlayStation brand, hardware, software, and services, as well as support of our 3rd party partnerships.

The ideal candidate must be experienced engaging communities across a variety of platforms (Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram, etc.). If you are a natural relationship builder with a track record of managing influencers and players relations we'd love to talk.

The individual is a storyteller at heart with strong social media expertise and acumen. Proven record as a creative and strategic contributor with a strong voice and authentic love for gaming, entertainment, and pop culture.

What you’ll be doing:

Social Media Management:

  • Bring PlayStation communities together over shared passions and help our fans discover new first party and third-party games, celebrate update for their live service favorites and advise on the latest in gaming hardware (PS5, PSVR2), peripherals and subscription services.
  • Lead annual social strategic planning and be the owner of the overall Pan-Latam Social Media strategy and roadmaps, including PlayStation.com and CRM initiatives.
  • Leads day-to-day operations of PlayStation social channels working closely with local agency partners in developing monthly social content plans and identifying and actioning relevant real-time opportunities.
  • Work with PlayStation Global and third-party partner studios to ensure Global content beats are being supporting across relevant PlayStation Global social channels.
  • Brief, development and planning with agency partners to develop localized social content that align to PlayStation monthly, quarterly, and annual priorities.
  • Support live event coverage for local and Global events.
  • Social escalation management working closely with internal customer service teams
  • Ensure our content and copy aligns our Global PlayStation brand behaviors and localized Tone of Voice.
  • Ability to balance business needs with our PlayStation community interests to deliver resonant content that delights our fans.
  • Responsible for reporting and analysis of social performance, developing benchmarks and sharing insight and takeaways.

PR Communication plans and strategy development:

  • Adapt global strategies to our local needs and create our own tactics considering each product objectives.
  • Identify each product milestone and deliver the appropriate assets and information during the communication campaign (pre-launch, launch and post).
  • Implement the actions behind the strategy with the correct PR tools: communications, events, media relationship, strategic partnerships, exclusive content management, etc.

Local media relationship management:

  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, TV broadcast and online media.
  • Consolidate existing relations and search for new opportunities with emerging media and content creators.
  • Identify media targets for each product, taking care of its objectives, and develop the correct messages to impact those media.
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Media database update and maintenance.

Monitor, analyzes and communicate PR results

  • Drive the appropriate data analysis for each product milestone.
  • Daily coverage highlights focus on videogames industry.
  • Monthly coverage reports.
  • Ad hoc reports for main events: Local fairs, international major events, launch events etc.

Overseeing market research and social media PR strategies:

  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them.

Corporate social responsibility:

  • Evaluate opportunities with potential foundations that help to build positive awareness for PlayStation brand and videogames industry.
  • Create and coordinate actions for charity foundations.
  • Communicate and gain visibility of those agreements and activities to spread PlayStation commitment.

Administration:

  • Budget & time management – ensure that you are working with agencies on delivering content in time for local and global review (as needed). You will be expected to define budgets, interrogate thoroughly ahead of approval and keep within the agreed budget.
  • Monthly budget forecasting and financial administration in relation to all PR and Social Media agencies costs.
  • Ensure Social sentiment and consumer reaction to announces are captured and shared with partners from across the SIE territory and Global business.
  • Deliver comprehensive evaluations after launches that provides an overview of performance, insights, results vs. critical metrics and findings.

What we’re looking for: 

  • +5 years of public relations and social media management experience, ideally working with consumer-facing brands/products.
  • Native in Spanish – Conversation & written.
  • Fluent in English – Conversation & Written.
  • Experience in developing social creative, digital marketing, and measurement.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for gaming and building communities.
  • Deep understanding of digital, social, and media industry and an ability to spot and understand digital media trends.
  • Proven track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, strong attention to detail, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with content creator channels (YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch).
  • Ability to organize and drive various content programs (giveaways, contests).
  • Understanding of mobile games, free-to-play, or live-service operations is a major plus
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize workload.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, start-up environment and collaborating with international teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding of the Latin America social media landscape and creative best practices.
  • Passion for social with a desire to stay informed on emerging social trends, Global trends, and willingness to act with urgency on real time and test and learn innovation opportunities.
  • Ability to apply a data-centric approach to the testing and optimization of content.
  • Can thrive in a fast-paced ever-changing environment with ability to think on their feet and pivot when needed.
  • Corporate and crisis communications experience.
  • Team player: Broad level of involvement across many marketing areas and many other functions.
  • Empathy: Understand community feedback and will put yourself in their mindset and make actionable decisions based on it.
