Software Engineer II
As a Software Engineer, you'll focus on building test frameworks and infrastructure, internal tools, and automating test workflows. You will collaborate closely with Quality Engineering and Software Engineering teams to build robust systems to ensure products delivered to customers and game studios are of the highest quality.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain test frameworks, tooling and infrastructure for teams which develop and test software for the Playstation console.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Collaborate with Quality and Development teams to enable testing of both hardware and software components in isolation.
- Construct telemetry systems and dashboard in order to make data-driven decisions about technical feature development.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- 2+ years experience in designing, developing and maintaining tools and applications in C++, Python, or Javascript with a focus on building testing tools, and test frameworks at scale. (C++, JS experience preferred)
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. Appium, Mocha.js, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Comfortable working in Linux and Windows-based development environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and QA teams.
- Strong debugging skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with test/build automation on PCs, consoles or other embedded systems.
- Contributions to and familiarity with software testing systems (and general software testing experience)
- Familiarity with Node, React Native/Web, Kubernetes, REST APIs
- LLVM or LLVM-based C/C++ compilers
- Experience with developing or testing SDK libraries.
- Working knowledge Docker-based test environments.
- Machine Learning experience
- Game industry background
- Japanese Language familiarity a plus

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$158,900 - $238,300 USD
