Sony Interactive Entertainment is transforming internal developer experiences. We need a Senior Full Stack Engineer to shape and extend our Internal Developer Portal (Backstage), constructing workflows for developers and teams in engineering, design, and product. About the Role

You’ll develop, construct, and sustain new features for our Internal Developer Portal. Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and design teams to optimize developer experience, automate recurring tasks, and secure internal tools that scale with reliability, performance, and security. You will play a pivotal role in inventing our developer ecosystem, ensuring our engineers can construct and deploy with flawless efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement front-end and back-end features using React, TypeScript/JavaScript, and Node.js
  • Build integrations with APIs, service catalogs, discovery mechanisms, and internal tooling
  • Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, observability, performance monitoring, and alerting
  • Use Kubernetes, Helm, and infrastructure-as-code tools to manage infrastructure reliably
  • Develop technical compose docs, specifications, and mentor junior developers
  • Ensure code quality via testing (unit, integration), code reviews, and following best engineering practices

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, deeply passionate about full stack
  • Strong experience with React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Hands-on with automated testing tools (e.g., Cypress, Jest, Playwright)
  • Proficient with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or equivalent)
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, IaC tools
  • Proficient knowledge of API integrations, service discovery, and experience with distributed systems
  • Capable of constructing and reviewing technical build documents and specifications

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Backstage or similar internal developer portals
  • Proficient in observability, metrics, tracing, and logging guidelines
  • Previous involvement in collaborative software development projects
  • Excellent communicator; experience mentoring or leading parts of engineering work

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$233,700 - $350,500 USD
