About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior level Engineer to help drive the ongoing evolution of PlayStation’s Global Financial Systems, with a strong focus on building event-driven pipelines and intuitive frontends. While your initial focus will be delivering scalable solutions for PlayStation’s finance systems, anticipate growth potential to expand into other areas across the business, driving efficiency and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Innovate: Architect and develop robust, event-driven microservices in Go, designed to manage high-volume, real-time financial transactions and data flows.

  • Modernize & Refine: Translate legacy ETL and reporting systems into the modern tech stack, moving from NodeJS, Informatica to primarily React and Go

  • Collaborate & Impact: Work multi-functionally with teams across engineering, product management, finance, and compliance to ensure solutions are resilient, compliant, and strategically aligned.

  • Leverage AI/ML: Pioneer the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate manual finance tasks such as reconciliations, reporting, forecasting, and financial journal creation-enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and innovation.

  • Real-Time Excellence: Design, deploy, and optimize streaming technologies like Kafka to deliver real-time financial insights and ensure rapid response capabilities.

  • Strategic Integration: Advocate and facilitate seamless integration of microservices across diverse financial applications and services, driving scalability, reliability, and future-proof solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent professional experience

  • 6+ years of experience in large-scale software engineering, specializing in event-driven architectures and distributed systems.

  • Expertise in Golang or similar languages, building highly scalable, real-time microservices as well as REST APIs

  • Proficiency in designing, building and maintaining single-page applications using React or similar frameworks

  • Capability to automate financial processes such as payment settlements and reconciliation, revenue recognition, and royalties, with consideration of how to extend similar solutions to non-financial systems.

  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling with a wide variety of databases. Nice to have experience with additional reporting databases such as Oracle and Snowflake.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms, including managing hybrid cloud/on-prem environments in AWS.

  • Proficiency with the following tools (or similar): Issue Tracking (e.g. JIRA, Service Now), Collaboration (e.g. Confluence, Trello), Communication (e.g. Slack, Webex, Skype for Business), Version Control (e.g. Github), Automation (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform)

  • Extensive experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). You should be proficient in automating build, test, and deployment processes using modern CI/CD tools and platforms (e.g. Github Actions, Jenkins, etc).

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$177,300 - $265,900 USD
