Job Description:

Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking for a motivated Cloud Engineer with strong skills in supporting corporate IT services and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will contribute to building, implementing, and maintaining IT systems and services for engineering teams worldwide. They will assist in projects to improve existing services, support migrations from on-premises to AWS, and help enable emerging platforms such as Generative AI services and workloads. This role requires solid technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools to support traditional and GenAI-based applications for global engineering teams

  • Develop and manage scripts to improve automation and efficiency using Configuration Management tools

  • Maintain IT systems through upgrades, patches, and performance monitoring

  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve IT system issues

  • Create and maintain infrastructure, service, and process documentation, including deployment, administration, backup, and disaster recovery procedures

  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and suggest improvements for adoption

  • Provide customer service and technical support through email, Slack, Jira, ServiceNow, etc.

  • Complete tasks and projects according to established timelines

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Systems/Cloud/DevOps Engineering

  • Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for projects and support (<10%)

 

Experience / Skillsets:

  • Experience with containerization technologies for scalable deployments using Amazon EKS

  • Strong understanding of systems architecture, networking concepts/protocols, and IT security standard processes

  • Experience with Terraform/Infrastructure as Code and Ansible/Configuration Management tools

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and familiarity with source control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.)

  • Experience with three-tier application architecture (load balancer, application server, database) and services like Nginx, HAProxy, Tomcat, Java, MySQL, and PostgreSQL

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github Actions) and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows administration

  • Ability to document standards, processes, and infrastructure diagrams

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$134,200 - $167,800 USD
