Role overview:

The Director of Games Merchandising will be responsible for showcasing the incredible range of gameplay experiences to over 100 million loyal gamers. They will have a deep love and passion for gaming and take huge pride in developing compelling and impactful merchandising experiences that are highly player-centric and contribute to the broader Store growth strategy. They will be accountable for ensuring that the global Storefronts are merchandised in a relevant and engaging way, helping every player discover the next perfect game, driving improved engagement, revenue and conversion.

This is a senior level role requiring deep gaming and merchandising expertise, a strong commercial lens, and demonstrated experience working multi-functionally to bring new experiences to life on the PlayStation store. This role will lead the team of merchandisers ensuring game launches, campaigns, promotions and experiences are delivered in a way that achieves Store commercial priorities.

What you'll be doing:

  • The core job is to maximize player engagement, conversion and revenue for the Store, while balancing key launch moments and other strategic business initiatives.
  • Accountable for leading and inspiring teams, fostering a collaborative and distributed work culture that encourages and supports high performance, data led decision making and creativity.
  • Responsible for overseeing, developing and optimizing the Merchandising performance on an ongoing basis and further ensuring that activities support achievement of Store commercial targets.
  • Responsible for ongoing optimization of merchandising, ensuring commercial targets are achieved through engagement and commercial growth.
  • Development of insights and inputs into the Weekly, Monthly & Quarterly business reviews.
  • Responsible for improving the efficiency of teams through improved processes and automation.
  • Leading weekly and daily Inventory management across both curation & personalization, to drive the strongest user and revenue outcomes.

What we're looking for:

  • 12+ years in digital merchandising or e-commerce, with the games or digital entertainment industry.
  • Deep love and passion for games and understand the psychological drivers behind game engagement.
  • Proven experience leading a high performing team in a global & matrixed organization.
  • Commercial results: strong commercial instincts and a demonstrated track record of driving profitable growth through digital experiences
  • Analytical skills: ability to use data & analytics to understand consumer behavior & trends
  • Domain expertise: solid understanding of the player journey & depth on what drives games engagement
  • Exceptional communication skills, and the ability to influence and lead senior partners
