IT Support Specialist

On-Site, Bend, Oregon

Sony PlayStation is looking for a passionate computer enthusiast to support a game development studio in Bend, Oregon. Our ideal candidate loves gaming, building custom PCs, and helping coworkers with IT challenges. This role requires regularly solving sophisticated desktop support issues. The IT Support Specialist will assist users and systems based in Bend, OR, USA. This role involves handling all elements of daily desktop management. Additionally, the candidate should be experienced with remote work and providing support to users at home. The ideal applicant will possess at least 3 years of IT helpdesk experience. This individual must demonstrate strong client support abilities, work well with others, and thrive in a dynamic, forward-thinking setting.

This is an on-premises role, and the candidate will be encouraged to work in the office, M-F.  

Responsibilities:

  • Install and set up hardware, operating systems, and application software on desktops and laptops running Microsoft Windows and MacOS.

  • Respond to end-user requests via chat, email, tickets, and phone. Quickly identify, research, and resolve issues.

  • Participate and collaborate with peers locally and across Sony to successfully complete larger projects.

  • Handle user and computer accounts within the Active Directory environment.

  • Keep computer operating systems updated in compliance with Sony InfoSec standards.

  • Manage inventory of software licenses and hardware assets.

  • Configure and maintain Windows Servers.

  • Build documentation for standard operating procedures, one-off installations, and end-user training.

  • Be available off-hours for scheduled maintenance, critical update releases, and physical office moves.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

PEOPLE

  • Outstanding and proven verbal and written communication skills in English. Good grasp of urgency, self-motivation, and dedication. Phenomenal customer service skills. Friendly and eager to learn.

Process

  • Ability to detail system build procedures and process workflow related to end-user support and system administration. This includes setup and delivery of new equipment, installing software, and related patches.

Technical

  • Must possess a solid knowledge of PC client workstation/server physical components, system software, applications, development consoles, printers, mobile devices, networking, Mac, and Mac-specific software.

  • Strong Windows OS background through Windows 10. Familiarity with studio development applications including Perforce, Visual Studio, Maya, Photoshop is a giant plus.

  • Basic understanding of server-side components and applications including web, application, and database infrastructure.

  • Experience equivalent to MTA, MCSA, ACMT, CompTIA A+ or above highly desired.

Planning/implementation

  • Work closely with others as a great teammate to deliver projects on time.

Industry

  • Proven success in a helpdesk or customer-service environment.

  • Has IT experience working for a high-tech company, preferably in multimedia or entertainment.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$67,400 - $101,000 USD
