The Paralegal, Legal Assistant at Ceremony Of Roses (“COR”) is a key position in the new and growing B&LA dept within SME’s in-house music merchandising division, and will be responsible for helping to keep the legal needs of COR moving. You will partner with the department’s attorneys to play a key role in the day-to-day functioning and execution of their work, as well as your own portfolio assisting the legal needs and inquiries of the broader COR team and its Artist clients. You will be an indispensable component in developing and executing new systems, processes, and policies for the operations of COR’s business and legal needs.
What you'll do:
- Coordinate, draft, and process an assortment of standard agreements, including NDA’s, Photographer Work-For-Hires/Licenses, Letters of Authorization, Consultant Agreements, and other high-volume paperwork; compose other basic business correspondence; proofread and edit documents.
- Track department deal/paper flow, update status logs, ensure timely follow-ups and consistent communications, and e-file/circulate closed deals.
- Summarize newly closed agreements, as well as existing on-roster deals, to memorialize information for quick in-department reference, as well as to discretely share need-to-know information across departments to COR stakeholders.
- Run point for B&LA, and partner with colleagues in Artist Brand Accounts and Licensing departments, to vet and investigating instances of merchandise counterfeiting, track anti-counterfeiting efforts, draft demand letters, and assist in bringing pursued cases to resolution.
- Respond to cross-department inquiries by researching and summarizing contract terms, best practices, and legal guidance.
- Assist attorneys by keeping track of email inboxes and pending matters, provide backup help on correspondence in periods of particularly high workflow, and staff the frontlines of fact finding and expectations management.
Who you are:
- You have 10+ years of experience as a paralegal, with an additional/concurrent 15+ years of experience in administrative support.
- Able to adapt quickly to immediate priorities and needs of attorneys, heads of other departments, and key business drivers with minimal disruption.
- You are hungry to learn and grow. You are curious, ask questions and get excited about new projects.
- Spanish fluency, to respond to international team members, preferred but not required.
- Music/entertainment/merchandising industries experience a plus, but not required. Passion for music and respect for musicians and artists a must.

California Pay Range
$75,000 - $85,000 USD
