The Vice President, Business Operations is responsible for the strategic, financial, and analytical backbone of Sony Music’s direct-to-consumer business.
This role oversees forecasting, financial planning, analytics, governance, and operational strategy across the global D2C platform, ensuring the organization scales efficiently and delivers profitable growth.
Working closely with senior leadership, the VP drives operational rigor across budgeting, performance tracking, and strategic planning while enabling data-driven decision making across the business.
The role also leads cross-functional initiatives that support the continued expansion of Sony Music’s D2C capabilities, including new business opportunities, international expansion, operational transformation, and the development of new commerce platforms and fan experiences.
What you'll do:
- Lead the forecasting and analytics function, developing predictive models for demand planning, campaign performance, and inventory forecasting.
- Develop reporting tools and dashboards that provide real-time insights into sales performance, inventory levels, and customer behavior.
- Translate transactional and operational data into actionable insights that inform commercial strategy and operational planning.
- Establish governance frameworks, operational processes, and planning cadences that support global coordination across labels, territories, and internal teams.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve operational efficiency, business scalability, and organizational alignment.
- Partner closely with Finance, Business & Legal Affairs, and Technology teams to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and system integration.
- Lead strategic initiatives that support the growth of Sony Music’s direct-to-consumer ecosystem, including new store concepts, business models, and consumer commerce opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and innovation initiatives that expand Sony Music’s direct-to-fan capabilities.
- Serve as a core member of the Sony Music D2C leadership team, shaping long-term strategy and supporting the continued evolution of the platform.
Who you are:
- 15+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, finance, or analytics within global consumer, technology, or media organizations, and experience from working in creative industries.
- Strong financial and analytical background with experience managing complex business planning processes.
- Deep experience building forecasting models and using data to drive operational and commercial decision making.
- Track record leading cross-functional initiatives in fast-growing digital or ecommerce businesses.
- Excellent communication and executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

$200,000 - $255,000 USD
