About the Role:
The Sr. Director, Analytics - Underwriting and Portfolio Management will play a pivotal role within Spotter’s Analytics organization, supporting the Capital team. In this role, you’ll empower creators to reinvest in their growth by providing transformative capital while spearheading underwriting and portfolio management strategies. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective execution of these strategies while help managing day-to-day team operations.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies using predictive models, business rules, and manual underwriting techniques where appropriate.
- Generate actionable insights from historical data, continuously improving underwriting and portfolio management processes through feedback loops.
- Structure complex deals, balancing risk and reward effectively.
- Design and deliver customer-facing analyses to support capital deployment, equipping the sales team with insights that highlight value for creators.
- Monitor asset performance, evaluate risk tolerance metrics, and conduct detailed analyses of unconventional asset portfolios. Present findings and recommendations to management regularly.
- Identify platform-level changes and integrate them into underwriting strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and train junior team members, fostering excellence in underwriting, portfolio management, and reporting practices.
- Collaborate across teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to align efforts and achieve Capital team objectives.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a quantitative discipline (advanced degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in analytical or quantitative roles.
- Proven expertise in valuation and underwriting.
- Exceptional risk assessment skills, with the ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and structure underwriting/valuation processes.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, particularly in troubleshooting data-related challenges.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to convey insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Advanced proficiency in Python/R and SQL, with experience conducting in-depth data analyses to drive actionable insights.
- Expertise in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, Power Pivot, data models) and proficiency in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
- Thrives in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments, managing multiple projects and shifting priorities effectively.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently and remotely with minimal oversight.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Culver City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $100K-$500K salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Spotter’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual discretionary bonus and equity.
