This role will be required to work out of an office location 3 days per week in New York City.
We are looking for an experienced, highly effective Director of Product Operations to lead the core operating cadences, performance management, and cross-team collaboration processes. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this role will act as the Chief of Staff for the Product organization, helping to cultivate a high-functioning product leadership team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee and facilitate key planning and decision processes for the Product organization, including solution reviews, roadmap prioritization, and annual planning.
- Identify, implement, and manage product management tools, processes, and best practices to enhance product team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track and report product performance.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve product operations, including process improvements, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Directly manage a PMO with ~8 people responsible for managing major technical and product-driven cross-functional projects.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineering, data science, design, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution of product priorities.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between product teams and other departments, including report-outs of prioritization and product launches.
- Act as a strategic partner to the CPO, providing support in decision-making, strategic planning, and execution of key initiatives.
- Oversee the CPO and product leadership team’s agenda, ensuring clear ownership and continuous follow-up on action items.
- Coordinate and lead special projects and initiatives as directed by the CPO, ensuring alignment with overall product strategy and company goals.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials for executive meetings, board meetings, and external engagements.
- Develop high-quality documentation & artifacts to ensure clarity for cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
- Guide product development lifecycle at every stage, optimizing processes and rituals that help the team thrive.
What success looks like in this role:
- Play an instrumental role in the successful deployment of the product operating model at Spring Health.
- Implement a decision-making and communication cadence that materially improves stakeholder alignment and satisfaction while reducing reporting overhead on product teams.
- Improve the speed at which we collectively identify, organize, and deliver innovation against cross-team priorities.
What we expect from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in product management, product operations, or a related field, with a track record of success in leadership roles.
- Proven experience in a Chief of Staff or similar strategic support role is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of product development processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred qualifications:
- Healthcare / health tech or benefits tech experience
- Hypergrowth start-up experience
The target base salary range for this position is $200,800 - $245,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
