The Medical Affairs mission is to continually improve and expand our care delivery programs, practices, and outcomes as we build precision mental health care for our customers.
The Senior Director of Mental Health Clinical Quality and Safety will lead and oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical quality initiatives, standards, and programs within our mental health services. This role combines strategic leadership with clinical expertise to ensure that our mental health programs meet or exceed industry standards, deliver high-quality care, and foster innovative approaches to clinical programming. The Senior Director will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to align clinical quality efforts with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices in mental health care. This role will be a full-time employee role and report directly to the Chief Medical Officer.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide Strategic direction and oversight of our clinical quality program for providers and coaches across multiple clinical care program functions to include reactive and proactive components of quality oversight
- Evolve and execute our ongoing strategy to ensure the adoption and execution of measurement-based care and other care best practices
- Develop MH HEDIS metrics and improvement plans to continually improve metrics with our health plan partners.
- Collaborate effectively with the Provider Operations, Clinical Services, Data Products and Product teams to support the evolution of existing clinical safety and quality initiatives
- Coordinate and manage cross-functional tasks and deadlines to ensure alignment with internal timelines, proactively escalating risks to leadership when necessary
- Evaluate existing clinical programs with recommended design enhancements and quality improvements, consulting with and providing recommendations to the Product, Operations, and other key stakeholders.
- Work with clinical teams to help maintain and manage clinical safety policies and procedures that are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations
- Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure new and evolving clinical initiatives and features are represented appropriately in the market
- Represent Spring in external conversations with employers, health plan customers and prospects in representing our clinical approach to care and clinical product abilities
What success looks like in this role:
- Maintain response and completion SLAs for all QOC events
- Drive continuous outcome improvement across all care programs
- Drive continuous safety risk mitigation improvement across all care programs
- Expand and improve provider training across all care programs
- Build new quality and safety programs as needed to improve outcome reliability
- Maintain current accreditations and execute achievement of new targeted accreditations
- Expand current data monitoring processes in accordance with industry standards
What we expect from you:
- Licensed psychologist (preferred), LCSW, LMFT, LPC or similar
- You have deep experience in MH clinical care delivery, digital MH clinical product development, and the healthcare ecosystem
- You have 10+ years of clinical experience
- You have 5+ years leading clinical and/or quality teams involved in healthcare delivery
- Experience designing / supporting development of new mental health quality and care telemetry metrics
- Demonstrated cross-functional experience in a fast-paced healthcare or high-growth startup
- Experience in the digital mental health ecosystem space is preferred
- Experience building quality programs within mental health care
- Ability to support and manage clinical processes of care with attention to detail and a holistic view
- Bring an understanding of care quality from both the individual patient, population and organizational levels
- Demonstrated ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams (clinical and non-clinical) through large improvement initiatives
- Strong communication and presentation skills and an ability to influence at multiple organizational levels.

The target base salary range for this position is $187,400 - $243,700, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
