Release Manager

Hyderabad, Telangana, India

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Release Manager to join our DevOps team in our Hyderabad office. The Release Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing software releases into our AWS-based infrastructure. This role involves close collaboration with development, QA, operations, and product teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and timely software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the end-to-end release process, including scheduling, coordination, and execution of releases across multiple teams and environments.
  • Work closely with DevOps, Engineering, and QA teams to ensure seamless CI/CD pipeline integration and deployment readiness.
  • Plan release windows and cycles, manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Maintain and manage release documentation, change logs, and deployment plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate release status and updates to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Automate and improve release and deployment processes to reduce manual intervention and increase reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with governance and audit requirements around releases.
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them promptly.
  • Monitor post-release performance and support rollback plans when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software release management or a similar DevOps-related role.
  • Strong hands-on experience deploying applications into AWS environments (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Nice to Have

  • AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with incident response and on-call rotations.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.).
