Job Description 

As a Data Solutions Analyst on Strider’s Data Analytics team, your job is to identify high-value sources of information and shepherd resources around their collection, extraction, analysis, and productization. You are also building capabilities at the tip of the spear on natural language processing, machine learning, large language models, and automation. The future of the company rests on your ability to deliver.  

We’re looking for someone with strong Russian language skills, a deep knowledge of Russia’s economic espionage and statecraft systems, and a comfort in exploring the technical skills required to tackle data management and data governance issues and big-data problems. Your work will be critical in allowing Strider to scale and may enable the creation of new features, methodologies, or even products.  

What you will do: 

  • Discover and dig into messy, unstructured data every day to answer critical business needs. 
  • Shape raw data to enable insights and develop economies of scale.
  • Apply critical business thinking to responsibly prioritize and discipline Strider’s collection and extraction resources.  
  • Propose and build processes for surfacing insight from large, unstructured datasets, at scale. You will leverage and develop cutting-edge tools like document classifiers, NLP, and novel extraction methods leveraging GPT.
  • Develop any needed technical and analytical skills to introduce new data and or product capabilities to accelerate Strider’s larger mission, which may include leveraging Python and Elasticsearch.
  • Establish and uphold a data-driven culture for a growing team within Strider’s Engineering function.
  • Plumb the depths of our data holdings and create our metrics to determine successful utilization. 

 What you will need to be successful: 

  • Advanced level language skill in Russian.
  • An MS or BS in either International Relations field or a quantitative field (e.g. Economics, Statistics, Engineering).
  • Eagerness to acquire functional knowledge of Python, SQL, or Elasticsearch.
  • Very strong ability to communicate with teams at every level, in every function, and in every time zone at Strider
  • Ability to independently manage deliverables and ruthlessly prioritize your work.
  • A rigorous and disciplined approach towards data quality and accuracy
