Position Summary:
StrongPay, a Strongpoint Partner, is seeking a Payroll Operations Associate to join our growing team in Riverwoods, IL. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience in payroll operations while working onsite with a collaborative and supportive team. The Payroll Operations team is essential to delivering timely and accurate payroll services to our clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Riverwoods, IL office, (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM Central time).
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute payroll processing tasks accurately using designated payroll systems.
- Compile payroll reports including pay stubs, summaries, tax documents, and other relevant reports.
- Package payroll reports and checks according to client specifications.
- Collaborate with Client Success, Tax, Onboarding, and Retirement teams to address client requests and issues.
- Coordinate corrections of data discrepancies with internal teams.
- Review and upload client 401(k) payroll files via various online platforms; maintain up-to-date instructions for each.
- Suggest workflow improvements and support automation initiatives.
- Assist with on-site responsibilities such as mail sorting, printer maintenance, vendor coordination, and building traffic.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of business or administrative experience, (payroll experience preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data and record-keeping.
- Comfortable working with multiple computer systems and software platforms.
- Able to manage high-volume, repetitive tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Highly organized and effective at prioritizing tasks.
- Problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Available to work full-time onsite, including during the busy season, (Dec 15 – end of Feb).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and CRM systems preferred.
Pay Transparency Statement:
The anticipated compensation for this position starts at $20/hour, (approx. $41,600/year).
At Strongpoint Partners, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job-related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
