Position Summary

The Internal Business Development Consultant of Retirement Plans plays a key role in driving growth by converting inbound interest into advisor relationships and new retirement plan opportunities.

This position sits at the intersection of marketing, sales, and relationship development. You will be the first point of contact for financial advisors exploring retirement plan solutions, helping qualify opportunities, build relationships, and support the sales pipeline.

Working closely with Strongpoint’s field-based sales team, this role focuses on lead qualification, advisor engagement, and proactive follow-up. It is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career in retirement plan sales and advisor distribution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and qualify inbound retirement plan leads generated through marketing campaigns, partnerships, and referrals
  • Engage financial advisors, consultants, and referral partners to understand their business and retirement plan needs
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up and progression
  • Partner with field sales and National Accounts teams to transition opportunities and coordinate next steps
  • Support advisor meetings, proposals, and presentations
  • Educate advisors on retirement plan design, compliance considerations, and TPA services
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and pipeline activity within the CRM
  • Collaborate with marketing to provide feedback on lead quality and campaign performance

What You Bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in financial services, sales, business development, or client relationship management
  • Exposure to retirement plans, financial advisor distribution, or institutional sales is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with CRM platforms and sales tools
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
