
Site Technician
The Site Technician Position
Sunnova Energy is searching for a Site Technician to join our Sunnova Installations department. The Site Technician will be responsible for gathering detailed information at a customer’s home that will be instrumental in the appropriate design of a PV, PV+Solar, Battery retrofit, and other Adaptive Home products sold by our Sunnova Sales team. In addition to gathering and submitting the information required to successfully complete a site assessment, the Site Technician will provide an excellent customer experience as the first face-to-face contact the customer will have with a Sunnova employee.
The Site Technician’s primary responsibility is to collect and document the roof dimensions, electrical components, home layout, and potential barriers to installation in a customer’s home. Detailed notes, drawings, photos, and layouts will then be created to provide a team of designers the appropriate information to deliver a full set of plans and single line diagrams. The Site Technician will do this and provide excellent customer service to our customers while on-site.
Site Technician Responsibilities
- Have an understanding of what is required to successfully document a site to determine what information is needed for a PV, PV+Battery, and battery retrofit installation
- Utilizes knowledge, skills, and equipment to evaluate roof structure, roof quality, home electrical systems, and other home components
- Read plan sets and view aerial imagery to get an understanding of a site prior to the site survey
- Take detailed notes, create drawings, and provide detailed supporting photos that drive a comprehensive assessment of what is needed to design a plan set and single line diagram
- Submit site information expeditiously upon completion of the site assessment and prevents unnecessary return truck rolls by gathering all information the first visit
- Identifies potential issues to installations and provides solutions to resolve based on site layout
- Manages vehicle material stock and equipment inventory
- Maintains compliance with all Sunnova Safety policies and practices
- Documents relevant information to Sunnova employees using appropriate software
- Delivers a positive customer experience to each customer during the site survey
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- 1+ year of residential construction experience
- Current, valid Driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing English
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 Certified
- 2+ years of residential construction experience
- 1+ years of PV installation experience
- Bilingual, English and Spanish
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency using computer software to document information
- Organized and maintains a professional appearance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Working Conditions
- Location varies depending on job site
- Estimated 25% travel time
- Able to work an adjusting schedule
- Driving Required; Valid Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Report required
Physical Requirements
- Long hours spent outside on residential rooftops, driving to customer residencies, ground and rooftop work, plus minor attic work
- Various weather conditions include cold and snowy, hot and humid, and everything in between; must be comfortable working in different environments
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; assistance may be provided for oversized items
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive for up to 8 hours at a time
- Work postures include reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, and handling objects above/below the shoulders

Pay Range
$41.50 - $41.50 USD
