We’re looking for a Data Warehouse Developer who thrives on solving problems, building efficient systems, and supporting business decisions through data. The ideal candidate will have expertise in: ETL development , database schema design, performance tuning, and SQL programming, along with experience working in cloud and on-premise data environments.

As a Super-Sod Data Warehouse Developer, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions that power our business intelligence and analytics efforts.  From ETL development and schema design to dashboard creation and performance tuning, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven tools and insights that support company growth.

 

Required Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. 3+ years of experience in ETL development, data warehouse design, and SQL programming.
  3. Expertise in Tableau, Powe BI, PostGraphile or similar BI applications.
  4. Strong understanding of data modeling, database design principles, and query optimization.
  5. Experience with JSON, XML, CSV, Excel, and other data formats for ETL processing.
  6. Experience with cloud-based data solutions (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.).
  7. Understanding of Python, R, or other scripting languages for data processing.
  8. Knowledge of data warehousing best practices and incremental data loading.
  9. Must be 19 years of age or older.
  10. Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

 

Location: This is an in-office position at our Charleston Headquarters with the potential for hybrid work 1-2 days per week.

 

Travel

This position requires little to no travel time.  

 

Essential Functions

  1. Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, data models, tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, constraints, indexes, and views to support data-driven applications.
  2. Identifies, defines, and assesses the properties and specifications necessary for the database management system (DBMS) to meet current and future needs of the organization.
  3. Develop and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to extract, cleanse, transform, and load data from diverse sources (JSON, CSV, text files, XML, Excel, and databases).
  4. Develops and implements policies and procedures related to data security and integrity.
  5. Develops, implements, and monitors access policies, limiting database access on a need-related basis.
  6. Develops, maintains, and controls additional corporate data libraries specific to the organization, industry, or locality.
  7. Create parameterized, drill-down, and drill-through reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to support business analytics and decision-making.
  8. Build interactive dashboards, tabular/matrix reports, charts, and graphs tailored to business needs.
  9. Automate report generation and distribution in multiple formats (PDF, Excel, etc.) using SSRS subscriptions.
  10. Work collaboratively with executive stakeholders contributing to analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation phases for multiple departments.
  11. Resolves data conflicts for matters such as naming conventions, data privacy, and data ownership.
  12. Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in DBMS and related technology.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position requires no supervisory responsibility.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office and, in some cases, from a remote offsite location. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and digital e-filing cabinets.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is primarily sedentary but will occasionally be required to stand or balance when conducting onsite troubleshooting, as well as use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. This employee requires full range of motion of arms and legs and requires movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity and coordination. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the Chief Technology Officer; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some weekend and evening hours will be necessary to accommodate any issues that might arise.
