About the Role:
As a General Manager, you will be responsible for leading the strategy and implementation to grow the Canadian market, manage the country P&L, and hit targets for net revenue and contribution margin.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to set a market strategy, efficient tactical and operational plans to meet commercial goals, and strong propositions for both customers and taskers.
What You’ll Work On:
- P&L responsibility for the Canada business
- Set the vision for the Canada team that covers marketing, partnerships, supply, and fulfilment
- Accountable for both sides of the marketplace: generating demand as well as ensuring strong supply health and task fulfilment
- Responsible for value propositions on both sides of the marketplace
- Shape the Canada strategy to deliver core commercial goals including revenue and contribution margin
- Oversee all tactical and operational execution for all functions within Canada
- Own market expansion and localization strategy, including the development of city-specific go-to-market strategies and localization of Taskrabbit’s offering
- Drive local/cultural marketing ideas, initiatives, and channels to increase brand awareness, in partnership with marketing
- Identify and pursue potential external partners to help grow the Canadian business, in collaboration with the global partnerships team
- Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to action on key market opportunities
- Manage on-the-ground initiatives that optimise and improve local fulfilment, supply activation, and client retention
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in driving commercial growth of a business. Any experience in marketing, business development, and/or P&L management is a plus
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams, capable of overseeing multiple people across different functions and levels of seniority
- Comfortable working heavily with data, and operating at a fast pace in an entrepreneurial environment. Experience working in a startup is a plus, especially a marketplace platform
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, and comfortable presenting to large groups regularly
- An exceptional ability to balance creative thinking with strong business judgment and analytical skills
- Problem-solving abilities in both data-rich and data-poor environments; ability to both delve into the details and engage meaningfully on higher-level strategy
- A natural inclination to take initiative and ownership, with the ability to independently navigate ambiguous situations and balance multiple priorities
- Role includes some travel within Canada and occasional travel to the United States
Ideal (Nice to have skills):
- Bilingual French and English
- An understanding of the dynamics underlying a two-sided marketplace
- Experience working for a global brand
Location: Toronto preferred, will also consider Ottawa and Montreal.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Taskrabbit, our approach to compensation is designed to be competitive, transparent and equitable. Total compensation consists of base pay + bonus + benefits + perks.
The base pay range for this position is $120,000 - $153,000 CAD. This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.
